ATI was talking about doing the same thing ages ago. It seems that nVidia beat them to the punch when they bought out Aegeia. Once again, however, there need to be games that take advantage of this technology for anyone to give a damn. Since it's being done via software, it's more likely to succeed than dedicated PPUs were. The age of dedicated PPUs is over (for now?)
