Well I played on a ranked server yesterday morning (1 game, 64 players) and received a Basic Combat award, a Basic Engineering award, and a Gold Star.
Gold star? what the hell is that? Coming from a decade military background i know what the bronze star is, i know what the silver star is............but a Gold star? Isnt that something your 4th grade teacher puts on your test when you scored an A++.
I had to find out what the hell this was it intrigued me. I scoured l33t noob threads til I found my answer. It means you placed first in overall score in a pub-rank game. Silver star for second and bronze for third.
Now the warishell community shouldnt exactly be leaping for joy when you get your gold star. We have always seen a higher standard of play from our community then other servers we may hit every now and then. So it was no great surprise when I saw my name as Overall #1 player yesterday. Afterall, I was in a tank the whole game.
What I want you to look at though ( your first rank game, the one you will get your Gold Star in) is how badly you beat these pubbers asses in. I mean these guys were just doing the dumbest things. Its not like facing an organized squad of WiH players. I didnt see any organization on my team or the enemies. WiH Assault, Medics, Support, Engineer, Spec Op should have no problem raking in awards if they so choose to go after them. Even snipers, bringing a WiH buddy along, should kick ass too ( Krunkert).
ADDITIONAL INFO THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO READ FOR THOSE PEOPLE THAT THINK MY POSTS ARE TOO LONG.
I cut and pasted this from some other thread. Just a list of a few of the ranks, points needed, and ? marks on stuff people dont ahve answers to yet. It is kind of neat when you get an award in game though, because it makes a neat little noise and the award flashes on your screen for a second or two. Your well aware you earned it.
