We have enough regulars on now that if anyone is interested we could try for a three squad attack formation on the bigger maps. Something like this.

Out front-- (Squad 1) 1st Recon

1 Attack Chopper Pilot (Any Class)
1 Attack Chopper Co-pilot (Engineer)
1 Humvee Driver ( Enginner)
1 Humvee Topgunner (Spec-Op)
1 Humvee Rider (Medic)
1 Buggy Driver (Spec-Op *Squad Commander*)

In the Middle--(Squad 2) 1st Armor

1 Tank Driver (Enginner)-- can act as Mobile Repair
1 .50 cal Tank gunner (Engineer)--acts as Mobile Repair
1 APC driver (Medic)--acts as Mobile First Aid
1 APC Rider (Supply*Squad Commander*)--acts as Mobile Resupply
1 Tank or Anti-Aircraft Driver (Assault)
1 Tank or Anti-Aircraft Rider (Assault)

Over the Top of the column--(Squad 3) 1st Airborne

1 Blackhawk pilot (Supply)*Squad Leader*
1 Chain Gun Left /Mobile Infantry (Assault)
1 Chain Gun Right/Mobile Infantry (Assault)
1 Mobile Infantry (Assault)
1 Mobile Infantry (Engineer)
1 Mobile Infantry (Medic)

1 overall commander

So you see there is 19 jobs here to fill. All very defined. 1st recon ground guys would have to be very crafty guys. The squad commander is alone in the buggy so his guys can respawn on him and hop out. Recon guys shouldnt be picking fights anyhow, they should be relaying info over teamspeak. 1st armor engages with the APC hanging back, if they lose a tank or something they just make do til they can get to what they need. The airborne guys need an awesome pilot who is really good at touch and go landings. He would be dropping those 5 guys off behind the target to sweep from behind.

If we could get 18 guys on the same page jsut for an hour or two I think it would be something neat. Just to see a column of stuff advancing on a position would freak the other team out. This would take a lot of preplanning.

A column like this would be virtually unstoppable but holding onto positions would prove difficult.

And you forgot snipers, They are the eyes and essential in a good strike force

Looks interesting, I definitely wanna give it a go. Mark me down as an assault guy in any of the squads :)

err..actually, sorry krunk, i didnt forget. I spent enough hours as a sniper in the demo to know they cant do anything better then any other class can. Maybe if EA would patch snipers they'd have a real use. Say:

1) Give them a "button" feature while scoped. Example, they have an APC in their scope off in the distance and they click the button. That information is sent to the commanders screen and the sniper gets some kind of reconnaisance points.

2) on the other hand, the best use for snipers Ive found is in the rear. It is the most boring play in the game but one of the most important. Back flags are generally capped by assholes. You know the guy. He's the one that skirts the map and while everyone else is fighting and spawning in the heat of combat he is nuetralizing and capping a flag no where near the frontlines. A good sniper can patiently wait on "*******" and plant claymores at that flag. If ******* sees your claymores pick him off as a sniper, that will ruin his 10 minutes of "getting there work." This can be negated by an armor *******, but half the time they jump out of their vehicle for a better view, or they cap and roll away, and if your fast enough you can recap the flag before his teammates know it has been turned.

sign me up for the 'Hawk duties as pilot or gunner.. By the way...

The 3 or 4 in the chopper should all be "Help"class. 1 medic.. should be pilot... he can heal gunners just by being there flying.. I know I have done it.. 1 Engineer who can wrench the helo in flight.. again been there and done that.. and 1 Support gent. who can air drop ammo down to needy troops

I disagree chaos. Just from my experience the best two Black Hawk squads I was in:

1) The pilot was landing in the Hot LZ and dropping off the entire load of guys. Then taking off again, only to have everyone resapwn on the chopper and do it all over again. That was the most efficient.

2) The funnest time was hovering over the flag while we all parachuted onto it, only to respawn on the chopper and parachute again. That was a blast.

bottom line is both works.. 1 infiltration squad and crew the other is a cover crew. Both are very effective

Haha no no... I've never been commander and I have no urge to be one. I mean I want to be squad leader and drive around in the buggy naming objectives and storming in on them.
I'm all about small arms combat and zippin around in the buggy :D
