COD4 Custom Kits

Hello all. Usually, I find myself on the business end of just about everyone's boomsticks. I get to wondering, "What perks are they using for that weapon? Sometimes a smattering of discussion goes on over teamspeak, but it can be a bit hard to get the complete story.

As I get to closer to the point of unlocking all the perks and guns, I thought about asking here...

What guns do you find yourself frequently using?
How do you perkify them?
What situation makes you choose one loadout over another?
Close combat kit versus long range kit?

I don't want to necessarily give away anyone's secret combo, but I thought it might be valuable insight for the folks who die alot (like myself).

Depends on what your trying to accomplish and the weapons you personally like.

For me I like this...
M-14 with dot
3x Frags
Stopping Power
Last Stand

RPD w/Dot
Sleight of Hand
Deep Impact

Silence Kit...
Weapon of choice with Silencer
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence

Back all up with a Deagle (if possible) or favorite hand gun.

Right now I'm working towards the golden weapons so mine change according to what I have left to do.

claymores
uav jammer (but its useless if you have no silencer on your gun)
deep penetration

What I'm using right now is the RPD with grip and deep impact. I try to stay away from nades in my kit because FF is on.
Learning the maps is taking longer then I had hoped. Some rounds I'll spectate and get a feel for it then hop in and test what I learned. I feel disoriented every time I spawn. Any tips about this?

map repitition is the only answer for disorientation, I have it too at times but just keep shooting, dying, spawning and it wil come together. Also watch the kill cam and remember those spots where you just got fragged from for the next time your at that place. It's amazing how you can't see them, but the k/c shows a very good represenation of the frag.

Depends on the map, but my usual load up no matter the map is.

P90 with the red dot.
M14 with the red dot.

3 extra stun grenades perk
overkill perk so I can carry both of the primaries
dead silence perk (though sometimes I will use the last stand instead)


I do have a P90 silenced with bomb squad, deep impact and dead silence.

I have a silent kit with the m16 silenced, silenced pistol, 3 extra stuns, uav jammer, and dead silence. (I stole my idea for this one from ALF)



I find myself mixing them up.
I always look and see who is killing me the most and what perks/guns they are using. Then I try them out.

I also like to pick guns that fire better from the hip..... I know you're supposed to bring your sights up every time, but sometimes you just can't :) :bolt:

As I get more experience I change my weapons load out.

Thanks for all the replies. Very helpful. As for disorientation, I get the same as some of the city/alley maps look very similar to me. However, I am getting the hang of it.

Lately, I have been using the G3 alot. Almost to 150 kills, but I just got the p90 silencer so looking foward to more sneaking with that. However, my first one I really liked was the big machine gun. Not sure the number though, but the third in the list. Double tap on that was crazy.

And I do like the claymores...

Dead Silence

M3 w/ silencer

Pistol w/ silencer.
