blue screens?!?!!?

I cant seem to play any more. start the game log on play for a couple of min. and boob i get this blue screen with all sorts of info on it, but its only up for about a second before my computer reboots. the most ive been able to read when it comes up is at least once it has seid some thing about drivers_***_*** and on another time some thing about memory they may be from the same message but i have not been able to read more than that when it happens. it also does this with CSS every now and again. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Ooooh.... The dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). There should be some log files somewhere that logged the error. I haven't seen a BSOD since WinNT. I don't know where to begin to help you here. Perhaps one of the other guys know.

ok i can play CSS fine its just BF2 that is giving me the error every time im get into the game.

did you do uninstall the demo? or just install over it? I uninstalled the demo first, then installed the game, not sure if taht would cause a problem, but I never chance it...
have you tto completely uninstall, and reinstall?

ok i uninstalled both BF2 demo and full game. Your computer rebooted? that is odd, the only game that I ever had that problem with was Diablo 2, when I used Alcohol120 to run it(No CD) but then I would put the CD in and it worked fine...

It also could have been the server you were on, I have been kicked to desktop twice now while in game, never rebooted though.

i have an Nvidia 6800 OC whe 7.7.3.0 i think its a third party driver that someone suggested from these forums i can remember who. but they got rid of the graphical gliches i was having with CSS maybe ill try switching them back then to see if that will help before i reformat

got rid if my third party drivers updated to the new nvidia drivers.......same thing ..... going to try a reformat mon. dammit

well now im at a complete loss for what to do, i reformated only installed my drivers for the mobo, my vid card. and serv pack 2 and i got to play for about 30 min and blue screen and reboot again...... :? :? :angryfire: :angryfire: :bawling: :bawling: :mgfaint:

well after some switching things out and back in to my computer i discovered that i seem to have a bad memory stick and that was causing the errors. now all i am waiting for is my damn late pay check so that i can go to the store and get more memory....BF2 does not like only 512 memory on my machine.

Hey Error, may I make a plug for www.newegg.com? I got 1G of memory there for $80.00 Delivery took less than a week and you can even have it overnighted. Good, fast, and cheap. Another suggestion for Blue Screens in general... Scan disk (the really long one where it checks for physical errors, too.) Probably would've told you that the memory card was messed up.

i just dont know anymore i got a new stick of memory and the game worked up untill the patch now it is blue screening on me again..... i am totally lost as to what i can do to find why i have this problem

Hmm... BIOS up to date? It's a long shot, but you could also check your motherboard for bad capacitors. To this day I still see some leaking electrolytes all over the place. Those'll definitely cause BSoDs.
