Yeah, plus it's very hard to get into, expensive, and you must set up your gear to look like you're on your team (woodland for one team, 3-color desert for the other). Oh, and its organized by a Ranger vet that was in Somalia '93. This event is based on the battle for mogadishu.

that's just uniform gear wise you are free to wear w/e.

If I am not mistaken the games are run and organized mainly by a little short commie by the name of John Lu and his infamous loudspeaker. The ranger vet is the infamous Col. Mc Knight. He's a nice man good talker too.

Pretty friggin cool... I was wondering, if that was some sort of military exercise, or civilian stuff. Seems like a lot of time and money was spent to set up the field. Safety issues..... burning cars and buildings?

Probably simple rule...get the hell away from it lol

I heard during the night fights too many noobs were tripping and falling with their Nightvision goggles cause they were not used to the effect it has on everything

Not just noobs...monocular night vision takes away your depth perception. Happens to alot of people.

You probably do, but this stuff is pretty much underground and you have to go out looking for it. Took some work to find a local group that plays around here (Puerto Rico), I'm going out Sunday to check it out. I've played plenty of scenario paintball, but not Airsoft.

Agreed.

I've been looking for some places. Lots of people in north NJ who play, but no fields. PA is the closest bet at the moment, and there is a place that is in Manchester that is SOMETIMES open, sometimes not.

Let's start a WiH airsoft field in NJ. :woot:

No 'fields' around here, we just know a couple private farms and abandoned buildings. Rules are fairly lax round here.

I wish I could do that. Piccatiny arsenal is RIGHT over the ridge from me. I think they might have problems if they see people sneaking thru the woods.

Grim, aren't you supposed to be the aisoft God of WiH? help us out!

I have no clue to laws in Puerto Rico....

As for all you stateside folk I wouldn't play on any sort of "hidden from public view" type fields...that just leads to trouble/bullet. You will have to search up the legal type fields most likely paintball fields with areas for airsoft if your lucky. Search up local airsoft shops and ask them about any local fields.

Another Great Video, though this is more like a promo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR7iEKvfIEU

I've had at least 4 encounters with police while playing paintball around here. The first was when we were playing in an abandoned military base (with bomb proof bunkers and all the doodads). After I had left for the day, a couple of the guys kept playing. Then they saw a helicopter fly low over them and then 5-6 patrol cars came barging in. They put their equipment on the ground and the police interrogated them on the scene. Turns out they were looking for an escaped kid from a nearby juvenile prison and someone had reported gun shots in the area. Also turns out, the kid had managed to get a set of fatigues when he went into the jungle to blend in better and when someone saw one of our guys run across a grassland with his camo on, assumed it was him. No big deal, the police just left told us to warn em next time, and the guys went on their way.

The next one was a bit scary too. We were playing in that same spot, when a police officer on a bike comes into the field. We drop all our stuff as to not pose a threat to him and approach him (he was just standing there looking at us obviously wanted to talk to us). He just asked if 'benny' was around cause he played with him in that area every couple of weeks and that he was glad that other people were also using the area. Talked about paintball for a few minutes and left.

3rd time was in an abandoned country house out near a beach. We had to leave our cars out on the public road since the only entrance to the field had a huge berm on it that could only be crossed by a Jeep, ATV or Bike. After the game we went over to our car, had to cross the road with all our equipment on and a Police SUV stopped right in front of us. The guy pulled down the window. Asked what we were doing and told him there was an abandoned house in the forest about 150m away and we were playing paintball there. The guy just said "Cool!" and told us he'd drop by next weekend...

The final one was truly frightening (had a 9mm pointed at me). We were playing in an old farm (owner knows we played there and didn't care). Now, to get to the farm you need to walk for about 30 minutes thru jungles and grasslands, leaving your car at a local pub. The jungle was infested with mosquitoes, so we walked down the beach where the wind made em disappear, going back to our cars at 7pm (night time). When we got near the pub, we walked into the jungle so as to not pass near the beach goers in our cammies (markers where in bags). When we were almost to our car (right at the edge of the jungle), 2 squad cars pull up, cops get out and pull out their guns. We are still in the dark jungle so we know they didn't see us. We decide to just drop the bags and kind of stay in the shadows (not pretending to hide just staying in the shadows hoping not to be seen). Then more and more squad cars arrive till there's 7 of em and they sourround a white car that is parked right next to ours. We realize it has nothing to do with us, and not wanting to spook an armed trigger-happy police officer we call out to them. They were so jumpy they actually turned around in a snap. Saw the bags near us, and unfortunately, the stock of my gun was sticking out. We told em they were just paintball markers. They told us to lift our shirts, put our hands on the hood of the car and they searched us, then they went thru the stuff in the bags, realized they were just paintball markers. Told us to get out of there. Then we told em we couldn't cause our car was next to the white one so he told us to wait around but stay out of the way. After they started leaving, we got in the car and left.

Turns out they were looking for a stolen white civic, the car next to us. But that wasn't it. So it just turned out to be a nice story to tell. lol

Puertorricans have a live and let live attitude so its not really much of a problem when somebody sees us.
