Microphone issues

I was having a terrible time with my microphone yesterday. if anyone says your overmodulating this what you do:

a) De-click microphone boost
b) Increase the percentage when you test it. I think mine is at about 10 or 12.

That seemed to fix it.

Jeff's right. If you're crackling or staticy, turn off the boost. or stop yelling into the mic.

I cant get anyone to hear me, I like the ingame and all, but I have had a horrible time getting it set up, I can hear everyone just fine, but it seems no one can hear me :dunno:

all I have to say is that VOIP sucks ... both in quality and in practicality

on a barely related topic, my sound crackles... i have a brand new AMD E machine with PCI express video, so i am sure it's not just old quality, any ideas? should i lower sound quality? or use software/hardware option?? i am pretty sure that it is an integrated sound card. any suggetions?

Really? VOIP works pretty good for me. The crackling is from users talks loudly or yell into their mics.
