I was trying to play this on v 2.2, now it says v3.3 and I have to DL it again.
There was hardly anyone on before.
It was good tho.
I will DL again.
IMPORTANT: You MUST uninstall the closed beta and do a new, clean install of version 0.3.0 in order to play the open beta.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
I was in the closed beta and while I thought the game play was
great, it looked low budget which didn't give me expectations of
this being a massive multi-player game.
I am a diehard BF2 fan (currently addicted to COD4, only 3 challenges left)
This is very comparable to BF2. It was made by some of the BF1942 Desert Combat mod which was my first online love.
I just loaded the new open beta and teh graphics are great.
After the closed verision being so low end, I set everything on high
and only got 20 FPS.
AMD x2 @2.6 GHz 3 gig ram 7900GS.
I only played for about 20 minutes and am planning on buying this game.

I downloaded it and played it this morning. I thought it was good and bad.
The Good:
- The Graphics are extremely good. Very much like Gears of War in graphics. Everything so far is pretty smooth even when all hell is breaking loose around you. The Audio is fantastic and the music in the menu is actually pretty rocking.
- I like the break down of classes and secondary roles. For example being a Sniper and a Drone expert you can not only stay in cover and pilots drones around to help your team but you can also pick off people at long range. Anti-Vehicle class along with Ground Support class is pretty good also. Assault with Air Strike cover is interesting. All in all the combo of abilities and classes is nice.
- The recoil of guns seems pretty realistic and the ability to basically go many places (except a few obvious ladders that would seem to be climbable but are not). A few of the walls and such are destructible but not everything.
- There are squad options as well though I have not been able to test them out as much. VOIP is in the game but not active during the Open Beta.
The Bad and Average
- The game is slightly like an arcade shooter in that it seems arcade like in feel. Point and shoot and all that. There are times when it's harder than that but I wouldn't say it realistic at this point. CoD4 is more realistic than it from what I can tell.
- The server browser needs a lot of work and I have been posting on the beta forums about that. Hopefully they fix it a bit before release.
- The drones are extremely hard to stop as it's hard to shoot them and get rid of them. It's very hard to not be killed by them as they seem to come out of no where. If you take the Electronic Warfare secondary skill set it highlights infantry and these drones. Coupled with the anti-vehicle class it's pretty easy to take them out so having a squad with several types of classes and skill sets is very important.
- I piloted the vehicles in Oil Fields map and tried all of them. They work pretty well however the chopper is rather difficulty to control in that it doesn't operate the same as they do in BF2. Much more arcade like in control. It's also pretty difficult to get anywhere and do a decent job as there are constantly rockets coming up at your from anti-vehicle infantry. Since you can't do fast passes effectively you hang in the air longer than you should. Maybe with a little practice I might be able to be more effective. Have yet to try the gunner's seat longer than a couple of minutes so I can't say how effective it is. So I don't know how well they will be effective wise in the long run but they are helpful at time that's certainly true.
So I like the game in general. I don't think it takes as much skill as CoD4 takes but it might be worth it as casual play. I didn't see anything about rankings or medal or anything like that but that might be because it's Beta. You do earn more skills in your secondary skill set as you play but that's the only change I noticed. I think it's worth the play at very least especially if they have a lot more maps in the full game. So that's my take on it.
