Subject: How to list my unlocked server?

EA said that they'll ban IPs of all retail servers that mess with the
unlockables. I have a server that will allow unlocked weapons for ranked players. This is in compliance with EA game settings via the setting "sv.useGlobalUnlocks 1". This is not a hack.

How should I put in my server name so that people know that I'm allowing unlockables in my unranked server? I don't want EA to see my server name "xyz Unlocked" and then think that I'm hacking it and then banning my IP.

Die Fledermaus]Best not to put it in your server name, as users can see if you allow unlocks the proper way (using the setting you mention) in the browser.

Regardless, the unlocks issue will be mooted when we release the first update. At that point it will become ok to use word "unlocks" in the server name.

Hmmm.... I wonder what is in the first update.... I'll bet they're adding in hooks to the server side so that they don't have to rely on the server name to catch the "hacked" servers. Right now, they scan thru the names and blacklist any server that saids "unlocked".

So in other words, if you use the SV setting you can unlock everything and it's kosher. If you change the python file it's not kosher.... That makes no sense.

The sv setting allows unlocked weapons to be used by those who have earned them from playing in the ranked servers. This setting does not allow everyone to use the unlockables. You still have to earn them to use them.

I suggest u don't put anything to do with 'unlock' in the server name..
