what "cheap" video card would i need to run battlefield the way it's supposed to look? i have a nvidia geforce fx 5200 and it runs on low everything, but doesnt look amazing.
my other system specs are an amd athlon XP 3100+ 2.20 GHz, 512 MB of ram. and i was thinking of adding on another 512 MB of ram, just want to upgrade my vid card so it looks like the screen shots i see :happyhappy:
just remember im on a jobless bum budget so i want the best quality for the fewest pretty pennies.

Either the Radeon 9800 256 or this card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1244482&CatId=0 You shouldn't be dissapointed with the prices or the quality

I'm going to go ahead and throw my two cents and say that the 256meg version of the 9800 is useless. I've read a few video card roundups that basically show that there's not much of a point to get 256 over 128 on the older generation cards.

If you had a price range, it'd help out a lot.

And assuming your budget is $170 or less, I'd go with this:
