wats every1's best round so far??? ive been gettin a lot better with the anti tank...i just went 63 wit 36 kills 18 deaths...

Somewhere in the mid-60's as well as best squad under Vonkrolls lead. That was a lot of fun with Snake, Vonk, and Saigon trying to take that east beach base. I was mowing peeps down with my spec ops gun on single shot and frags. Too bad I never got the flag :(

I haven't kept track at all. My best rounds would be when my squad successfully attack, capture, and defend a couple of flags. :thumbsup:

Best so far was 112 when gunning for Chaos in the B.Hawk. Only reason I remember is because the HR squad on the other side kept getting mowed by me. As you can imagine I was amply berated as a "traitor" on TS :hehehe:
Just a fair warning to all, always get in the left gunner seat when Chaos is piloting. Him piloting + orbiting right = Tree's of Death :D

Ive scored over a hundred quite a few times. Always in a tank or APC for the whole round. I cant figure out how to do it any other way. Though Im sure its possible. The best way I can figure it is to play your class to the fullest potential. Example, if your going to drive a tank or APC, always be an engineer. That way you get points for kills, repairs, capping flags, etc etc.

You don't get many support points when your flying in a bomber the whole time. As for winning? I don't know how close that round was but i'd be willing to bet we would have won if the USMC didn't start with 40 more tickets than MEC.

It was 149 to zip, look at the last set of Gulf of Oman on the right. Has nothing to do with them starting out with 40 more tickets, I've seen MEC win that map many a time against well organized opposition.

If you haven't noticed, that doesn't track (show) all the rounds. Do the addition of all those and then look at the totals.

In a close game, those 40 tickets mean everything. I can't tell you how many times the games end with MEC at 0 and USMC at 39 or less. I've noticed more very close games than I ever thought would happen in the demo.

It be that damn stick... it just doesnt feel natural.. esp with no view point to the right. so i usually fly in cockpit and use the windscreen as a guide.. I sure as hell hope they fix that shit and put it like it was in POE and other games where your alt fire or whatever made you look outside..

that same game though was my highest as well.. 99 both as pilot and as gunner. I tells yas that that BH with a good crew and pilot can just destroy an enemy poisiton unless they get into armor... it can be more devasteing then the Arty because again with a good crew you can keep that thing in orbit and it will not allow you to really setup a defense on that base..

I wouldn't say it's the 40 points making the difference, MEC have a large advantage on the map due to the distance of their flags from the beach flags, the closeness of their air support, and access to 4 pieces of armor immediatly at the get go. Where as the USMC only has access to 2 pieces of armor and has to bring their air support in from the far SW corner. The issue is 90% of the players are still playing Counterstrike Public Server style of run and gun, and zerg everywhere rather than using the tools they have available to them. It's really not that hard of a map to win if everyone is working together (which I have seen alot with MEC winning 150+ to zip, when they get the armor co-ordinated, sweep in on the Americans and deny them any flags on the mainland which isn't that hard). Only time I've ever seen "close" matches is when neither side has anyone really doing the tactical/strategic thing, but just put one squad of "regulars" on one side and it's a fairly easy win. Hopefully closeness of matches will go away as more people become regulars and get used to the way things work.

MEC does have a good advantage with their armor. (Saying that from an Armor guys point of view) And while I do a fair amount of run and gun and don't usually join a squad, I do try and focus my armor attacks where my ground squads need it. i.e. drive around the base they are attacking and provide them with more firepower while they run in and do mop up and cap. I feel good when that happens and only wish they would make more requests for my services.

Speaking of coms from ground troops, I find it very difficult as a pilot to target bomb on positions without TK'ing since you can't tell where you guys are on your approach. Someone, whether it be the ground guys or the commander should be calling for bomb runs prior to their base assaults. Short of that I think I will either quit flying planes, or quit bombing anything besides home bases and just fight the other aircraft.

Depending on how server rules are determined that may not be a factor. I could see base camping with armor going away. And usually when I get on during prime-time lately we've had 2+ sqds of regulars going at it on MEC side and not having any problems. And the Blackhawk is not that big of a deal if people actually use the IGLA's for what they are there for (hell I actually started taking them down with BTR's now that I know the missiles are guided on those). And again MEC has the advantage being so far from the beach flags. Forcing the US to stretch themselves thin getting up to the construction site and hotel, anyone with a half way decent defense can easily hold them off with one squad at each location (we did it several times last night) as they are so spread out coming at you. Just send a small recon group to the furthest flag (either SE or the NW), cap it which forces them to divide their forces, and try to force them to divide their forces again by taking the flag on the opposite end with another small group. Simple rudimentary tactics, and it's been working well for us. 40 tickets is nothing to bleed them from.

Americans get 4 pieces of armor to start. There is an extra american flag to the southeast and an APC spawns there for sure plus another buggy. This is on the full 64 player map.

Right Jeff, we were just discussing the Demo map :) all of that goes out the window on release servers.... Any expanded areas to the NW or an additional flag for the MEC up that away? Or have you had a chance to check?

The only full round 64 Ive played so far is the Chinese Power Plant, we got our asses handed to us by the chinese. There may be as many as 3 chinese attack choppers ( likely 2 but seemed like 3) and they had Kossori quality pilots in them. My life span in a tank was about 10 seconds. I think the secret for tankers at least is keep your ass in a warehouse ( theres lots of them) and only go out in the open when you absolutely have to.

wow... i couldnt get in to the WIH server yesterday, so i went to another server for a couple of rounds....


i pwnd everyone... i was like a 1 man team..

it was 32 ppl map and i was on top..

i had 50+ pts at the end of the round, and the closest other person was 20 pts, and my team won... most them had 10 or less points. and this is for both teams... sad... very sad....

ummm... i want VIP status for BF2 server... admin?? how do i get this?

Eh, just checked out the map, it's actually kind of nice. US gets 1 piece of armor and 1 additional transport chopper. MEC gets 2 additional pieces of armor and a transport chopper. Still a big advantage, especially with the new US flag being so close to the one next to it. Set up a joint capture on both at once and it will really set back the US war machine.

i have looked at all the maps and there are some major differences between the 32 player map that we have been playing on and the 64 player versions i.e. 3 artillery pieces on 64 player maps.......(imitates homer drooling) mmmmmmmmmmm more artillery pieces....... sorry i love being the commander

according to the guide it is critical for the americans to seize the power plant right away to prevent the chinese from getting the air power

Well we jsut finished the first almost full game on the WarisHEll #1 server. What can I say that was best game. Final score - 151 overall points.

Best in Combat, Best Engineer, Best Flag Capture, Best Armor, I jsut had a dynamite game. :P
