After 6 hours of the hardest work of my life, I decided to go home and go straight to bed. Hours later I awake, and my mom is blabbering on about my computer making a beeping noise. So I go downstairs, and walk over to my computer and there it is, beeping away, and on the pitchblack screen, the following message....
"Warning power cable is unplugged from your Radeon 9800, please refer to the getting started guide for installation"
So now I am really puzzled, how could the cable become disconnected, when I have not altered it in any way. So I opened up my case, found the cable to the video card, disconnected it, and then reconnected it. Turned on my computer, crossed my fingers, yes it started up correctly!
But this brings me to the point, what the hell just happened? The cable was obviously correctly connected before I opened the case, and has anybody ever had this problem?
