When I am playing BF2, 2142, or CSS, or Insurgency I play on high settings with no problem.
When I try to play Pirates is like I am suddenly running a celeron processor with 128 mb of ram and 16 bit on board video, in other words its laggy as S**T. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I turned all my settings to low and still have trouble if there is very many people in game.

I turned some off the lightning effects down and its running good now. damn I like the game. you get 2 shots, one rifle and one pistol. you gotta make them count (headshot) or else you'll be spending hours reloding or hours stabbing the enemy with ur not so good cutlass.

Could be video card related. You guys should specify which cards you have and/or if they are ATI or Nvidia.

I've seen on other servers--complaints of lag so I would guess it is mod related. Still wicked fun though.

it is very normal for a new mod to suffer from unoptimized code that causes lag. Within a few releases, they'll sort it out. If they don't, then the mod won't survive long.

im running a 7900GT overclocked to 550/800
handles bf2 on maxed out just fine, couldnt cope with the detailed pirates mod. its just on those 2 ships, with 40 guys running around, shooting, exploding, it cant cope, especially not on the not so good bf2 engine that makes the card render everything and the probably not so good coding of the mod.

I went to medium for video settings and it seem to resolve all my issue including CTD and lag issues the game has ran fine
