Has anybody checked out Nations at War mod?

Nations at War mod just released the latest version v5.0. here is the website....subs and all kinda stuff.... http://www.nawmod.com/

this is what got my attention quickly, i have to download it and see what is going on.

They got some pretty crazy vehicles it would seem. The General Lee, a 688i Attack Sub, and the A-Team's Van. I'll probably check this out soon.

i installed and played singleplay for a couple of hours and multiplay for an hour.

a quick review:

the mod devs did a good job of making changes that are good/fun for game play. is a fun mod to play. some changes and points of interest are:

a. the game is Nato vs. AA (asian alliance) - so each character on each side is actually a different nationality. so there are 7 nato countries to choose from and 7 enemy country forces to choose from including iranian terrorist, iraq forces, syrian terrorist.

b. all characters get two main weapons, a secondary weapon and explosives. so lots of weaponry.

c. some vehicle changes include new skins, blackhawk gunships (with rockets), blackhawk medic choppers with door miniguns, introduction of comanche scout chopper....lots of other new vehicles or vehicle tweaks that are pretty neat.

d. the maps have alot of static props that are well placed and look nice, they obviously spent some time on that.

i didnt get to the nukes or figure that out ( i havent read the readme file).
the game play is pretty arcadish but alot of fun. i would recommend downloading and installing at least to just check it out, i think is worth it. maybe we can all play for a couple of hours later this week or weekend or something. i dont know that it will have longevity, but i give it a :thumbsup:
