On the subject of spawn camping in BF2.

My thoughts are that we should NOT have any spawn camping rules bc the maps are designed in such a way that you have to get into the enemy uncappable base to destroy their vital equipment that their commander relies on, such as radars, UAV stations, artillery pieces.

Please give us your input and we'll make a decision on how to admin the BF2 servers going forward.

Thanks!

I think you mean "second that motion" :D

I agree, at least on the current map, spawn camping rules shouldn't apply.

I've spawn camped my own spawn and the enemy spawn, but see no big advantage to either one. Sometimes yee live, sometimes yee die.

It's pretty fun snipin off the top of the hotel when the enemy is spawning below. But, if they are working as a team, aircraft will wipe your gloating, happy arse off there before you can finish typing

"Die you sorry, basteeches!" enter.

I say allow it.

Ill make comments with a lot of Point of Existance in mind.

Definition "Camping."-- Jeff sitting on top of the warehouse sniping the beach and spawn points as the battle rages on underneath him, all the while i might add, begging Monos for air drops and trying to figure out a way to break it to the community his BF2 spoof likely wont egt ressurected til November thanks to this dumb game.

Nothing wrong with that right?

Definition "Spawn Camping."-- Jeff rolling onto the outskirts of a flag machine gunning poor helpless folk who countinually refuse to change their spawn point even though they know im going to be right there in the tank.

I dont see anything wrong with this either. This morning I watched my team go from a 30 point deficit and retake every flag on the beach as I did this up in the construction site area. I purposefully did not cap the flag in order to give the team another option for spawn location. When we took a lot of damage, Id roll the tank back and the machinegunner, another engineer, would quickly make repairs and then go torment them again. To us we actually thought this was a good strategy and not some cheap tactic to roll up points. We really didnt get that many anyhow.

One thing Ive noticed is, it is very rare for one person to cap a flag in this game all by themselves. In POE you could cap a flag in like 15 seconds. In this game its like were all special olympians at opening ceremonies trying to get that flag down. Did anyone time it? It must take 90 seconds.

About 10 minutes ago I was playing and some dude rolled into the MEC main base in a tank and destroyed the radar, the artillery, the planes, the chopper, rolled to the end of the runway, and then did it all over again. Kudos dude in my opinion. If on a 64 man team you cant rally 3 guys to get anti tank weapons and kill this idiot, you deserve to have your main base raped. And any MEC guy that paddles himself out to the carrier and does the same deserves kudos too.

There is no one kill all be all weapon in this game that makes you say " GET THE HELL OUT OF MY MAIN BASE." Trust me Ive tried already. :P
Yesterday playing a spec op kit, I worked my way back to their main base and blew up there radar. I then climbed the oil tower and took pot shots at people at the flag. It irrated them, but I maybe only killed 4. A six man spec op team doing this might cause a team some problems though. Can you imagine 6 spec op guys blowing up a main base and then stealing a tank and denying any air power to the other team? Wow. Who wants to be in Dave's new squad?

Shouldn't it be third??
I am all for camping. There are no repair pads to sit up on, no ammo crates to reload with. Even if he/she is the GREATEST camper EVER, he will still need to leave to repair or reload eventually. Also it will sound a touch retarded to keep yelling.... "Blow stuff up or get out of the main"
Thats just my 2 PoopSticks anyway.

It is now party of the game for this map, and I assume all maps, because radar and artillery, basically it is just going to require better teamwork and defense. I for one, find it pretty cool to have to sneak in, and take out required pieces of equipment, but I never hang around after the job is done :D that I cant stand, but oh well.

Gorro ask yourself how you can be more effective. Kill 4 more guys, die and respawn. Or trek back 10 minutes doing nothing.

I DON"T LIKE TO DIE, though my stats don't show it, I prefer to steal a vehicle, and leave to help my team out, or trek back, YOU can run now!!!, and it is really hard to say, spawn in takes a little time, I prefer to live and fight then die, yup that is it. Plus this map isnt that big, doesnt take long to move from area to area.

I think that its just a part of the game, either way, it may work or it may not. But i think that as we play this game, and see that it is more team oriented, we will us the squads to move throughout the maps.
I think a active squad will be much more effective than base campers.

But either way, its all good. :hehehe:
