So, last night I reinstalled windows after putting in a new XFI sound card. Windows install the first time gave me a BSOD, so I reran setup and used format instead of quick format and install then went off without a hitch. I get into windows, download the lastest Nvidia driver (162 or something). Restart and then get back into windows and try to change my monitor resolution. My monitor native is1680x1050, but when I set it to that resolution the picture is too big for the screen (but it is the native resolution!) I have tried:
1. uninstalling the "plug and play" monitor in device manager, and resinstalling it, nothing changed.
2. I tried putting in a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel (which by the way, I freaking hate! I want my old panel back!!! it is too Vista for me!).
3. Tried changing the settings on the monitor but to no avail.
SO, ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
