well after a lot of intense hours of figuring out the problem

if any one had this problem
you would enter a ip addy and try to join and it would say "blah blah check network settings" or it would just go back to the lobby.

i deleted bf2 and then when into registry and deleted it there also then
did a system restore 12 days back.
turn off any virus programs running before u install the game.
when installing it asked me to update my 6800 gt oc drivers to 77xx
but i did not. i kept my 71xx driver's not sure if that helped any but .... i had to try

well now it works after all that

i think it was my AV that did something but who no's lol

if anyone else having this problem and need some hlp
icq me 53869174

heat is all happy now that he played today

Hmm I don't have system restore enabled.. nor do i want to use it.

I think Norton is farking everything up though. Anyone know how to COMPLETELY disable it temporarily? I mean so that there are no processes running that crap.

if u have win XP
press ctrl alt delete
and something will come up go to processes and turn off all nav things

or start>>>run>>>msconfig>>>startup and turn off all NAV stuff
i used norton and i always had pc problems from one thing to another
then i stop using it and i use a free anti virus program
work good and dont take a lot of resources

if u need any help icq me 53869174 or yahoo tiger_illusion

thanks wihadmin yes it was fun gotta get use to it myself

I had norton, and my advice is to uninstall that crapastic piece of amphibian sh!t and get AVG, a free virus scanner, that works wonders.
