Alright well I've been playing BF on my computer for hours now, no problems, and everything is fine. Not so on my girlfriend's computer.

The game installs perfectly fine, but when you click on the shortcut the game looks like it's going to start up by going to a black screen. However, after a moment, it quits again.

Now, I thought this was a video card problem or something. Updated Direct X to v9.0c. Her graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP (yes, it's a laptop). The drivers that are installed are the ones that came with her laptop. Unfortunately, going to the ATI website and getting what I believe are the correct drivers has done nothing for me. They won't install for reasons I don't begin to understand.

Any help?

And as an update... went onto HP and got her the most recent drivers I can find. Her computer says she's got 384MB of RAM as well, so could that be the problem? If so, can her computer get an upgrade for more RAM?

With 500MB of ram, the system will be swapping like crazy. So if she's got 384MB of ram, your game should be like a slide show.
