just wondering...about the video card req

i would like to know if any of u guys got the demo to work with a video card that is below the minimum req spec

by that i mean like a 128mb card such as GeForce 4 4600 (which is what i have) and it doesnt support shader 1.4 =(

plz post here so that those of us who doesnt meet the minimum spec for the card can cry ourselves to bed...

i have a Geforce fx5200, but it isn't officially supported (i doubt yours will work either).
I am going to test it in a couple of hours when download finishes.

P.S. i hate ea for their damn high computer spec requirements

I have a geforce 5600, 256 mb. On ea it said it supports 5700 and higher!!! WTF! :thumbsdown:

its as if nvidia want us all to upgrade...

GF 4 series will not work at all, for those with the 5 series i would try the demo and see if it will work, settings may have 2 be played with.

ITS OFFICIAL. EA can suck nuts and garggle my sack.

You can read the requirements at their hompage. It has to be a 5600 (if I remember correct or higher). Also, the fricken thing needs 1.7 Ghz processor to run. I will not be able to play this game for another 3-5 years when its more reasonable to buy a new computer. Hope to see some of you still playing CS:S after this.

Sup you all! Jeff here! Ok here is some info for you mid-range machiners.
I am running:

AMD Athlon XP 2 gig hz
1 gig ram
Nvidia 5500

Now running at 800 x 600 the game runs flawlessly for me. Yah, it doesnt look the greatest, but it sure was a hell of alot of fun to play. I havnt tried to bump it up a bit yet, but even in 800 x 600 the game is still worth it, just so you know.

yeah, i have a nvidia gforce fx 5200 with 512 mg of ram with an amd athlon xp 3100+ and it works/doesnt normally lag on lowest res and vid settings. :thumbsup:

I have a Geforce 6800 256mb and yet the game crashes my computer every time I try to load it up. I have tried downloading it and installing it 3 seperate times to no avail. At this point I have become tired of wasting my time to download 500+mb only to find that as soon as the game gives me the choice of single player or multiplayer it freezes. If I figure it out I will see you there, otherwise I'll just hope WIH makes one of the servers a CSS server again otherwise it's goodbye from me. :(

gf 3 gf 4 will not work i have them lol
gf3 ti 200 2 of them
gf 4 ti 4600 and 4400 they dont work
but on all other games they work good
all are for sale :)

fx 5200 and up will work
9200 and up ati will work
