What I really hate is when you stab at someone and it makes the noise as if you got them but they dont die.Is that a glitch or does heavy armour take more knives?

I have many a screen shots like this (because my computer loses connection often) I think one of the best was when I was sniping at a guy who just jumped off a building. You could see the flash of my gun and the cross hairs were on his head, dead center of his head.
