He's like WAY too old to reprise the role.

well... they are both suppose to be in their mid to late 60s in this story (if they stick to the comic/graphic novel).

Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhardt have been cast to portray the villians in Dark Knight. According to IGN. Filming has already begun, and a trailer should be out by this holiday season.

this is just "the dark knight" not the "return of the dark knight" that was when he was old. Batman has been refered to as the dark knight for a long time before that. I would love to see the graphic novel made into a movie though.

i thought this movie was for "the Return"?! damn it... i was all psyched up for it.

Wha? u'd rather see Batman attempt to kick ass in his 60's instead of actually kick ass in his 30's?

Anyone going to go see this in IMAX? I'm trying to find tickets online for 12:01 am on the 18th but I guess I'll have to go and get them directly at the theatre.

I'm going for a matinee showing on the weekend. Normal movie ticket prices cause me pain.

make sure you get your tickets as early as possible--the imax sells out easily for movies like this.

For those of you familiar with it, a trailer for Watchmen will be attached to Dark Knight. As if I needed any other reason to go see this film. I'm practically drooling with anticipation.

Looking forward to the movie especially because The Joker was always my favorite Batman villian. However, extremely disappointed Harley Quinn was yet again left out of a Batman movie. At this rate I doubt she'll ever be in a live action Batman with the Joker.

Preliminary reviews are out on Rotten Tomatoes. I only read a couple summaries (for fear of spoiling the movie) but here's one of the more impressive comments. A very bold comment, I must say:

"Squaring off the best-ever Batman and the best-ever Joker would've been enough, but director Nolan sticks them inside an ensemble crime saga that should make Scorsese proud."

I'm going in with the same expectations I had for Star Wars Episode III: "This is going to suck". So that when I do go see it, my expectations won't be larger than what's delivered.

As it is, I'm expecting it to kick the ass of all the other comic book movies that have come, including Iron Man and Batman Begins.

yes, but you went in thinking it was going to suck, and Episode III DID suck...this is going to be different :)

All I will 'spoil' is that this movie is fucking incredible, and will go down in history as one of the best comic movies ever. Heath Ledger = best Joker ever.

I love Magic Tricks. I want to perform them on people that irritate me. :D
This movie was awesome, and for me not only lived up to the hype, but surpassed it.
