Anyone think she's really going to jail. I think were talking about her giving up a substantial amount of money to get out of this one.
Who's thinks she's going to jail?
I think she will.
Now why to people with ALOT of money do stupid sh#t that gets them in trouble. You think they would be smart. :smack:

Because they think they're above the law.. which sadly is often true.
Should she go to jail?? Hell yes. Because if I did that same things she did, I would go to jail.
I'm tired of the rich thinking they can get out of everything with money.
All she had to do was publicly and sincerely admit that what she did was wrong... instead.. she whines "it's not fair"
Whatever.. you know what's not fair? The fact that everytime I get a raise, the place I work for raises the price of parking. The next raise I get, my landlord raises the rent. Two years in a row.. my raise amounts to nothing.
She runs around with no panties on, snorting coke all over the world, gets caught driving multiple times while drunk, and then whines "it's not fair..".
F$@k you Paris Hilton.
I hadnt heard about it.Just looked quickly at a short article there.
Have I got this right, she got banned for drunk driving and is now facing jail time for driving while suspended but not drunk?
If she was driving drunk again I could understand but I dont see the point in jail time if she wasnt drunk this time. Why make the tax payer pay to keep her in jail when you could just fine her a whopping great amount of money?

She'll get a fine and some community service for driving with a suspended license. She won't be in jail for long if she goes there. I say less than a month if at all. Of course she will probably get caught again unless she hires a driver because her license will still be suspended.
$5,000 fine and 100 hours of community server plus jail time served (if she is currently in jail)
$5000 fine, 1 week in jail and 100 hours of community service if she is currently out on bail.

why... i think she have money!!
yeah if someone without lots of money do the same he must in jail!!
she has a lot of money so she must in jail for more than 45 days (thats what i heared in the german news, hope its true)
i think she must in jail for 6 month, for what she did and for 6 extra month because she is Paris!!:D

you would think, though that someone with that much money, (and was probably having a relationship with britters for a while.... hmm another night in paris and Brittany too *L*)
would be able to afford a cheauffer.. then she would not have to worry about driving, forgetting to put the lights on her brand new car ( that should have the lights on automatically) and being drunk high having nookie whatever....

My money is on her getting a whopping 12 hours. In most cases, people report in to jail with a sentence this small and are excused after waiting most of the day because of overcrowding.

I remember hearing about the online petition sites. One was a Free Paris site and the Jail Paris site had more votes. She totally deserves to go to jail. Ignorance of the law does not make you above it. :upyours: Although I do realize that she probably wont serve 45days. I sure hope she has to stay in there the whole time.. If only because maybe we'll hear a little less about her during that month. The media blitz when she gets out though will be horrible.

And she's out folks. 3 whole days in 'jail'.
Technically it was 5 because she showed up just before midnight and left just after midnight. Apparently she was refusing to eat most of the jail food so they let her leave and put her on house arrest for 40 more days instead.
Absolutely pathetic.

I would imagine 3 days in a prison for someone like paris would be enough to teach her her lesson.
Incarceration can be about punishment or rehabilitation and considering she didnt actually harm anyone I dont see the need to give her a long time inside just for the purpose of punishing her.

33 days is not long. The celebrities of the world get away with too much. She "got sick", not an excuse to be let out, sorry. To freakin time if you do the crime, any other regular person would still be in jail (a regular cell, not a special area for celebrities).

Paris releases a statement. The ending it rather funny. Its funny how the stupid press is asking if she is going to write the book about her jail experience. OMG come the FAWK on. The bit#h only served 5 days.
"I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally. I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."

A little perspective on overly short sentences and stays. This is all public information available in our local newspaper so I'm not violating any confidentiality rules:
We had a guy, Mr. Smith (real last name) up here. He was boating on a local lake. His two year old little boy just "disappeared", and is presumed to have drowned. Mr. Smith was drunk at the time, boating around with a two year old who had an adult size life preserver on. Best guess is that the poor kid fell out and slipped right out of the preserver and drowned- I think there was another theory about the kid being towed on an inner tube, too. Either way, the kid's dead. Dad was too drunk to know it happened until later.
It took a little while but based on witness statements, etc, our investigators finally figured out about the life preserver. Mr. Smith, the whole time, had been offering up pretty much, "Uh, I dunno what happened!". He has never shown any public remorse at all about the death of a two year old and the disappearance of his body (searchers looked for two weeks and couldn't find it). Also, he has since gotten another "Boating under the influence" charge AND a DUI.
Since nobody could prove exactly what happened, it was difficult to charge him. I mean, something happened- first there was a two year old, and then, one drunken boating trip later, there wasn't. But nobody on the boat was gonna talk, and witnesses on the shore didn't see the actual drowning. So in the end, he plead guilty to "Child abuse resulting in death" (I believe).
His sentence? Two months.
But that's not all, folks! The arrogant, drunken, non-remorseful Mr. Smith got to serve it in our "weekenders" program! That means he gets to serve his time by coming in on Friday nights, staying in a camp style dorm (no jailhouse orange clothes for him!), do volunteer work during the weekends (clean up cemeteries, clear brush and trash out of public campgrounds, etc), and go home Sunday afternoon/evening.
So...kill a child through drunken carelessness, show no remorse AT ALL, and you get some camp-out weekends!
As far as I'm concerned, a 40 day sentence for Hilton's DUI sounds like a pretty stiff punishment next to that.
-LiT- Killer_B
06-07-2007, 05:40 PM
the 40 day sentence was for violating her probation by driving, when her privileges were suspended due to the initial DUI.

06-07-2007, 07:18 PM
The difference here is that Mr. Smith got a far too lenient sentence to begin with, whereas Paris got out of her original sentencing (via fame and fortune.)
It sickens me... but sadly, I saw it coming.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8PKAB4G0&show_article=1&catnum=0
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Hours after Paris Hilton (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22Paris+Hilton%22&sid=breitbart.com) was sent home under house arrest (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22house+arrest%22&sid=breitbart.com) Thursday, the judge who put her in jail ordered her into court to determine whether she should be put back behind bars. Hilton must report to court at 9 a.m. Friday, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told The Associated Press. "My understanding is she will be brought in in a sheriff's vehicle from her home," Parachini said.
Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer issued his order after the city attorney (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22city+attorney%22&sid=breitbart.com) filed a petition late Thursday afternoon questioning if Sheriff Lee Baca should be held in contempt of court (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22contempt+of+court%22&sid=breitbart.com) for releasing Hilton Thursday morning.
The celebrity inmate was sent home from the L.A. County jail's Lynwood lockup shortly after 2 a.m. for an unspecified medical condition in a stunning reduction to her original 45-day sentence.
She was ordered to finish her 45-day sentence under house arrest, meaning she could not leave her four-bedroom, three-bath home in the Hollywood Hills (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=%22Hollywood+Hills%22&sid=breitbart.com) until next month.

youre a good guy blis. she is clearly traumatized. however when i see it i smile knowing that her trauma stems from not living anything close to human being's life. can you imagine being so rich and irresponsible that you dont carry your own drivers lisence when you drive and think you can drive drunk with suspended lisence night after night and not spend a few days in jail. anyway, your nice...and it has been fun laughing at it.
btw, county lockup sucks....that is the way its supposed to be. (I've only seen the drunk tank :wallbash: ) watching her cry her way out is bull when so many other inmates endure beating and rape when they act that way. but...she does get her special cell so she doesnt have to worry about that.

I wish the press wouldn't focus so much on the celebs. If the cameras suddenly stopped chasing everywhere, they might stop growing such large egos and maybe think about what they're doing, or rather deflate them somewhat. They just get high off of all the attention and try to flaunt their money/power, cause people are stupid enough to follow them around. Then again, that would never happen, as some people literally LIVE the life of their celeb.... Then again, I don't understand it, I mean. Sure, I have some idols and what not, that I look up to or whatever, but, I never understood why some people go as far as they do with celeberties... It's somewhat scary, chasing them with cameras and stuff. O.o; And even dressing like them... I got a bit off topic, lol. But if anyone could explain that to me, I'd like to hear an interesting response.

Yes she would have. Hell I'm expecting my brother to get one worse than what she got and he just has one DUI under his belt. In no place am I saying that it is ok because it is not ok to drive drunk and I think that people should not get off easy with that sort of offense.

Its the people that seem to take joy from her pain that I dont get.Enjoying someone elses suffering is pretty messed up.
It is the joy of seeing someone getting some real suffering that they have never experienced (because of their status), that the normal everday joe would have to suffer.
I would imagine she has had little, if any, reprecussions for actions since birth. There are other people in the world, that are not celebrities, in the same position. Realizing that there are consequences for their activities.
Blis, it is not so much reveling in someone else's suffering as it is having someone that has avoided any real consequences getting their's finally................................
This may be totally false, she suffered a horrible life. Subjugated to horrible conditions and punishments throughout her life, but I would bet that is not the case.
This situation would be similar to one of the royals BRAZENLY breaking the law, and getting off with having to stay in their mansion for 60 days. Woopte f*cking doo. "real" citizens would have to pay a "real" price.
America is a hell of a place. You bust your balls to get to the top.....and once your there you better mind your P's and Q's......nice thing is EVERYONE has a chance to get to the top. Just don't be a dick/princess when you get there, and you will go far.
The reason most of us are happy and enjoying this is because celebrity comeuppance does not come by very often. Most times when a celebrity breaks the law, they get the slap on the wrist punishment. Such as community service, paying a fine, or doing a public service announcement. Showing up a homeless center and handing out food is good charity work but not much of a punishment, but it is a punishment if you have a job that makes you work 40-60 a week. A $40,000 dollar fine to someone who makes millions for a movie is a joke, how many of us could drop 40k on a fine and not think twice about it. What are the chances a regular joe would get to film a commercial saying drugs are bad.
These celebrity have been out of control for too long, they think they can do what ever they want and have no consequences. This judge put his foot down and said enough is enough. Her punishment did not exceed the maximum sentence allowed. The judge also knew that home confinement would also be a joke for a person like her. There was talk of a party already in the works for her early release at her house.
And the other big difference is she is going to make money off of this punishment by writing a book about it, how many publishers would be interested in our book if we had to do 45 days.
ps. note to Paris's mom next time keep your mouth shut.
Kathy Hilton, mother of the notorious party girl, became a media magnet herself at her daughter's probation-violation hearing Friday. She laughed when a city prosecutor argued that Paris deserved jail time. When a judge ordered the 26-year-old Paris to serve 45 days in county jail, Kathy Hilton blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"
She also shared her feelings with reporters outside: "This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke."

I revel in her misery and anyone else that does something stupid, get caught, and they get what they deserve and they should server it all, no time off for good behavior. I'm glad the judge hauled her pampered a** back into court the next day, had her put into cuffs and taken away. What's fair is fair because if that were me in that situation I wouldn't be getting the private cell she got but a cell where my bunk mate was giving me a shirt with "Bubba's Bitch" on the back. Celebrities are just like everyone else, they just have money to pay their way out of crap so it's good to see on get nailed and even more sweet that it was her.

regarding sentiments conveying that paris is getting worse punishment because she is a celeb. nope, any non celeb being caught driving with lisence suspended after a dui would go directly to jail while car was towed. they would stay there until monday morning because most jails do not bond out at all hours of the night/on weekends. (sidenote, i think you can get bonded out at all hours of the night/on weekends in vegas actually)
anyway, i have known people to spend 30 days in a rehab just to reduce the jailtime they get for dui related stuff. so thats 30 days before an actual jail sentence.
our company provides drug court services to a couple of counties, and basically this is all that deals with. these people, many only drinking alcohol, will get sentenced to serious prison time after multiple offences and have to go thru an extensive 2 year outpatient program to avoid their jail term ( and hopefully learn to live in society).
anyway, paris isnt getting it hard. she is just taking it hard.

06-09-2007, 03:09 PM
She got popped for driving with a suspended license, not another DUI, if any other person had this happened they would not have had to spend 40 let alone 23 days in jail, in LA a normal person would have not gone to jail but been placed under house arrest, also the max she could have gotten was 90 days. She could have gotten out that night, in CA you can do that, not sure if her jail would, but I know people who have gotten arrested for a DUI and been released the same day. All my information comes from LA and surrounding county sheriff officers, prosecutors, lawyer, etc. I don’t know about everywhere else but getting 2 DUI’s in CA is nothing you will not go to jail for that no 2 year outpatient program, it will cost you thousands of dollars some community service, but that is basically it.

My take on it is she is in the public spot lite all the time and if they let her off with nothing then it tells all the people who watch what she does that they can do the same. She is in a spot that can teach people and yet she does stupid shit anyway. So as far as i am concerned throw the book at her hell throw the gavel to. This Judge I like, he is making a point with her.. and rightly so. No one is above the law not Paris not Gibson not any other of the jack nut star who think because the public loves me and i have money I am untouchable and can be held to no standard. Everyone needs to wake up and see that this behavior needs to stop.
You know had that been a Military Person not only would they have been punished by the local gov't but also by the Military... This my friends is whaty is known as the big double. So she is still getting off easy they should have made it to where she had to be housed with the general populace.

This is something that I got in an email from one of my uncles a few weeks ago.

Subject: This is humbling...
"It has been said that Marines are at war. America is at the mall. ." Diary Of A Last and Final Flight Home February 17, 2007,
0350 I was at curbside at 24th and M, Washington DC . 16 Degrees with a light breeze. Going home after my second week of freezing temps to my warm home in SoCal. Take a walk on the beach, ride a horse, climb a mountain and get back to living. I'm tired of the cold.
0425 paying the taxi fare at Dulles in front of the United Airlines counter, still cold.
0450 engaged the self-serve ticker machine and it delivers my ticket, baggage tag and boarding pass. Hmmm, that Marine over there is all dressed up in his dress blues a bit early this morning... "Good Morning Captain, you're looking sharp." He says, "Thank you, sir." Pass Security and to my gate for a decaf coffee and 5 hours sleep. A quick check of the flight status monitor and UA Flt 211 is on time. I'm up front, so how bad can that be? Hmmm, there's that same Marine. He must be heading to Pendleton to see his lady at LAX for the long weekend, all dressed up like that. Or maybe not. I dunno. The speaker system announces "Attention in the boarding area, we'll begin boarding in 10 minutes, we have some additional duties to attend to this morning, but we'll have you out of here on time." The Marine Captain has now been joined by five others. BINGO, I get it, he's not visiting his lady, he's an official escort. I remember doing that once, CACO duty. I still remember the names of the victim and family, The Bruno Family in Mojave - all of them, wows, that was 24 years ago. On board, 0600: "Good morning folks, this is the Captain. This morning we've been attending to some additional duties, and I apologize for being
10 minutes late for push back, but I believe we'll be early into LAX. This morning it is my sad pleasure to announce that 1st LT Jared Landaker, USMC will be flying with us to his Big Bear home in Southern California . Jared lost his life over the skies of Iraq earlier this month, and today we have the honor of returning him home along with his mother, father and brother . Please join me in making the journey comfortable for the Landaker family and their uniformed escort. Now sit back and enjoy your ride. We're not expecting any turbulence until we reach the Rocky Mountain area, but we'll do what we can to ensure a smooth ride. For those interested, you can listen in to our progress on Channel 9." Click Channel 9: "Good morning UA 211. You are cleared to taxi, takeoff and cleared to LAX as filed."
4 hours and 35 minutes later over Big Bear MT, the AB320 makes a left roll, a steep bank and then one to the right-Nice touch. Nice tribute. Five minutes out from landing, the Captain comes on the speaker: "Ladies and Gents, after landing I'm leaving the fasten seatbelt sign on, and I ask everyone to please yield to the Landaker family. Please remain seated until all members of the family have departed the aircraft. Thank you for your patience. We are 20 minutes early." On roll out, I notice red lights, emergency vehicles approaching. We're being escorted directly to our gate, no waiting, not even a pause. Out the left window, a dozen Marines in full dress blues. A true class act by everyone, down to a person. Way to go United Airlines for doing things RIGHT, Air Traffic Control for getting the message, and to all security personnel for your display of brotherhood. When the family departed the aircraft everyone sat silent, then I heard a lady say,"God Bless you and your family, and thank you." Then a somber round of applause. The Captain read a prepared note from Mrs. Landaker to the effect, "Thank you all for your patience and heartfelt concern for us and our son. We sincerely appreciate the sentiment. It's good to have Jared home." After departing the a/c I found myself along with 30 others from our flight looking out the lobby window back at the plane. Not a dry eye. It was one of the most emotional moments I've ever experienced. We all stood there silently, and watched as Jared was taken by his honor guard to an awaiting hearse. Then the motorcade slowly made it's way off the ramp. I realized I had finally seen the silent majority. It is deep within us all. Black, Brown, White, Yellow, Red, Purple, we're all children, parents, brothers, sisters, etc - we are an American family. Official Report: February 7, 2007, Anbar Province , Iraq . 1st LT Jared Landaker United States Marine Corps, from Big Bear California , gave his live in service to his country. Fatally wounded when his CH-46 helicopter was shot down by enemy fire. Jared and his crew all perished. His life was the ultimate sacrifice of a grateful military family and nation. Semper Fi, Roger
His death occurred at the same time as Anna Nicole Smith, a drug using person with a 7th grade education of no pedigree who dominated our news for two weeks while Jared became a number on CNN. And most unfortunately, Jared's death underscores a fact that we are a military at war, not a nation at war. It has been said that Marines are at war. America is at the mall.
