Racing fans:

According to the official sources over at www.forzamotorsport.net, the demo for Forza 2 will be available tonight at 2:00 AM PST.

It should have 24 cars- I don't know how many tracks. No word on if we can mess with painting the cars or tuning them.

Too bad I have to work the next 3 days straight

got it, good fun, cars feel a little sluggish, and the controls maybe a little too finicky (over sensative), but all in all a nice racer, looks nice, though not worth 60 bucks IMO unless you happen to have the full racing setup, i for one am still not a fan of the 360 controller lots to do for a demo too...

As always, I recommend to everybody who plays Forza that you turn ALL aids off. The physics engine can't shine unless you let it :) Although traction control is helpful with the R class cars!

I love it. Only disappointed with a few things-

The replays blow. Same camera angles from Forza 1. Seriously, guys, who wants to look at a front bumper? :dunno:

The graphics- cars look good, tracks look okay. I know that Forza spends a TON of processor resources on the AI and physics- but I worry that not looking "pretty" will turn people away from this game (just like playing it with the driving aids on makes it feel sluggish).

The sound. Sucks. Period. I have a surround sound setup with a nice big sub. Games like Crackdown and Rainbow Six sound like World War III. The cars in Forza 2 sound like dentist drills. Even if I turn the other effects waaay down so I can turn up the sound, it still sounds stupid. Also, every gearbox "clicks" with each shift....ummmm....my car doesn't do that IRL....

But the cars handle pretty much exactly like I would expect them to. The physics feels very, very good to me. If I turn off all the aids and play the R class cars, it feels a lot like GTR to me, which is a HUGE compliment. When you take that realism and add in the tuning, painting, selling, and online, I'm for SURE hooked on this one.

So, while I give the demo maybe a 7/10, I am still super excited for the real game- the graphics and sound can take a hike, I'm here for the realism :)

ill say SOME cars sound good.... the 350, the 430 and the m3 sound quite close to real cars, at least compared to other car engine noises thus far

as far as the clicks, that would make more sense on paddle shift cars if anything

ima buy the game anyway, just bc it has an e36 m3
im HOPING the new gran turismo has my car in it though :)

sequentials have also been known to click, but i thought they were meant to be almost production, a sequential would mean quite a modification.

i will try it tonight with everything turned off.... though i still am not a fan of the 360 controller

I tried it and didn't much care for it. It didn't really feel that different that PGR3 to me and I don't want to get sucked in to that experience again.

You sir are no friend of mine ;)

Forza isn't for everyone. Just the cool kids :D

I just suck at racing games that require you to stay on the road and not run into anything to win. Some people are more skilled at that and would probably have more fun at it. I personally liked Test Drive Unlimited because you just cruise or race which ever the mood strikes you to do. This one has good qualities as did PGR3, but just not my bag man. I am sure you will have a blast.

I will get it in hope that the full version is better. I don't like the throttle and brake where it is, I think that is screwing me up. I can't stay on the freakin road b/c every time I touch the brake I am skidding out :( I am not too impressed with the graphics either :( they sort of suck on my tv :( I hope the multiplayer is fun, well like I said, even though I am bitching I will get it in hopes of something better :)

everyones complaining about the brake, i think it's fine (mind you i don't mind going into a slide during a turn) just need to pick your braking points to compensate for it.

other then that, it's a pretty solid game as a whole.

now it sucks that i work so much, and yet i don't get to stay home and play the games and stuff i get :(

but as it stands, i'll have F2 on release as well as it will be LCE.

give me about a week to get into the swing of the diffrence between the demo and the full game and it's on.(lower 3 classis of cars mind you)

Had a chance to download and play Forza 2 demo last nite. I ran thru it with a bunch of cars in each class. I thought it played pretty good. Graphics is underwhelming to say the least. The cars handled well. I turned off all Assist functions so it was fun to drift the cars around the Mugello track. I didn't have any problems with the brake. Just don't pull it in all the way. Be gentle with the brakes and gas and the car is quick and stable. I'm not sure why Drayu have a problem with brake and gas controls. The left right triggers have always been the brake and gas controls.

The only thing that felt odd was the super race cars. They look and feel like they're rotating on a central axis instead of turning into the corners. I thought the sounds sounded right and the feel of the cars is about what I would expect them to handle.

All in all, I like the demo and will be picking up Forza 2 in a few weeks when it comes out. Anyone know if it's got Live multiplayer race support?

I don't like the triggers for brake and throttle b/c those buttons are full input or no input. I like the analog sticks b/c it has sliding input. That way i can control the amount of brake or throttle.
