Ok, so there is only one Atomic Bob. Except for Rottweiller I saw on the internet once. But here is a historical newspaper photo of me at the San Diego Video Game Championship.

I just stayed long enough to call them losers and go home. How you guys pull off 35-0 runs cuz they are suckage, I may never know. The whole site is suckage.

Seriously, I remember as a kid watching tv on Saturday morning and around 11 oclock when the cartoons ran out sometimes 'THE INTERNATIONAL PUTT-PUTT TOUR" would come on TV. Then these two gangly "athletes" would knock in hole in one after hole in one all the while their MArlboro's dangled out of their mouths. I remember saying, "damn, thats EXACTLY what I want to be when I grow up." The money, the Chicks, the free tokens....... Well later in life ( like 6 months later) I realized that the world putt-putt champion raked in about 15,000$ in winnings, even for 1980 that kind of money sucked. And INTERNATIONAL meant " we have a franchise in Tijuana."

But Bob, you came closest out of anyone of living the dream.......

Actually this tourney was sponsored by 7-11 and was held at the SD Convention Center. Each 7-11 in the county sent four players. Not sure how many all together but it was several hundred.

We played Pukeman, Asteroids, Galaga and Scrambler.

First prize was a scholarship that I didn't need since I was already headlong into spawning, so I carried a commanding lead into the final round and timed my death to let some kid take it. I wanted the moped.

The owner of the 7-11 sponsoring me got a trip for two to Cabo which was kinda bogus. I'd probably already bought him a vacation home with my quarters.
