This is actually one of the coolest things I have ever seen. As a teacher, I have to cheer for whoever did this. Think about the kids involved. They are often depressed or feel that they produce little if anything of any worth. A teacher came along, taught them how to sing (to the best of their ability), helped them write their own song lyrics (this is tough for anyone to do well), then set these lyrics to music. He/She then recorded these kids and cut a CD for them. I can't even imagine the sense of accomplishment this provided for those kids. They probably had never experienced anything so fulfilling. Brilliant.

Is the music "good". Not really. I think it is sad that people would buy or listen to this simply for the laughs. Heck, there are popular bands that people listen to "for real" that sound worse. Half the reason these sound cheesy are not because of the singing or even song content but because it seemed to be recorded with a mini-midi keyboard accompaniment. Put some of those songs up with a live band and a sound tech to fix the pitch (like they do for 90% of the "real artists" out there) and you'd have a top ten record.

It's called "Christmas Is the Time (To Show Your Love) " and if you listen to the words of the song, there's a lot of truth to it.

I initially heard the song a couple years ago on one of XMs holiday stations. It really caught my attention because it just sounded like a bunch of high school kids just having fun and singing. It wasn't until I later researched the song that I discovered what it really was.

It's a cool song, you should check it out.
