If I understand correctly, you can post your own topic but only the original author can respond to their item.

You can PM the seller. Or if you need to, you can start a topic in OFF-TOPIC and reference the for sale thread. It was setup that way to limit the trolls messing with people selling stuff.

if you mean your own, well then that will have to be fixed, if you mean someone else's, well then here is the forum description:
