For all the people who have been asking lately, I found this and read through most of it, and it is pretty helpful!

and reading the forums, that Mobo, isnt that great, but the next step up, which is like $25 more, got much better reviews.

Thanks.
I see a few problems with this write up.
1. you could go with a step below asus mobo and save 20 bucks
2. go with a AMD chip and save 80-90 bucks
3. not buy the sound card hold off and use the on board sound.
4. if you have a computer i'm sure you would take stuff off of it and save you some money. cd/dvd/cdrw ect.
I would have to say its a good start.

After trying both the AMD dual core and Intel, I wouldn't think twice with going with Intel. As for the sound card, I agree, not as important, plus, most people use headsets. As for the MoBo's it is all personal preference, I personally like EVGA, but all the ASUS boards I have used have been solid!
