The sniper in particular is great to look at. I saw one hiding in the bushes and barely made the distinction between the bush and sniper. Snipers are going to have a field day blending in with the expansive BF2 terrain.

Bonez - You should be really really happy with this!

i know, i can see all the calls of
"lamer"
"f***ing camping tard"
"lameass"
"f***ing lamer sniper, gets his sister to suck his d*** because he can't get a girlfriend, because he's so f***ing lame"(actually been directed to me as an insult, killed him just after he finished typing it)

ah... but this might actually make snipers useful... as much as I hate fighting against them and very very rarely do I ever go sniper myself, having a good sniper on your side can be very critical... this has been missing in both BF:1942 and BFV... although the new POE mod for BFV has seen an increase in effective snipers... Perhaps in BF:2 these snipers can actually become useful to clans... helping to cover streets and alleys...

One other interesting thing... in BF:2 the distance you can see is lenthened when you use a binocular or scope... unlike BFV or BF1942... where it doesn't see any farther, it just makes the stuff bigger... in BF:2 you can actually see farther by zooming in... not just clearer... this will make snipers more important... allowing them to fire and kill when the target can't even see them (in BF:1942 and BFV if a sniper can see you, you can see them...zoomed in or not... they just will see you better... more clear)

well i was able to hide anywhere, and would give intel over TS and get intel on targets from ground people(as long as they flashed their icon.

Once we get some peeps that can be commanders, the snipers' worst fear will be the ammo crate! :) Squish!

In reference to POE:
I find in the new maps alot of great sniping areas!!! especially A Bridge too Far and Rising Storm(my Favorite) There are so many great hiding spots, what would be all out awesome is if they threw in a transport chopper to place some snipers on roofs  I myself never really got into the sniper bit until the last couple of days, look at my stats, I NEED TO HIDE MORE... on that not, can you tell your clan to fly upside down when doing air to air combat with me....... just kidding, but you guys got some good ass pilots over there, and for you... NO MORE LANDMINES GEESH.... :D

the problem i had with most of these games is when your a sniper you cant hide in the grass as it is not rendered from long distance so the snipe is looking through this large growth of grass trying to get a bead on someone and the just look up and see you laying there out in the open.

I've heard that it is no longer the case with BF2.

If that actually gets implemented that will be great. One thing I noticed in POE is there are no maps wherre transport choppers can actually get people to inaccesable rooftops. Even better then a sniper, since I think they would have a hard time seeing the streets, is a few guys with SAMs. How would you like them apples? Casually flying your blackhawk around and a shot lights up from a building you KNOW had no ladder going up it.

On Zanzibar, I've seen the US drop snipers off on top of the barn and the hangars on the middle flag.

On Mukatan (a map that we dont run), snipers are often dropped of on roof-tops as well.

Aditional note on Snipers. The only map where Ive seen snipers do really good is Zanzibar. A really good sniper, well placed in the hills on the Northern Flag is a pain for Russians spawning there.

In all the new maps there are soooo many good spots

the trick is, don't pick a spot that everyone knows, pick one they wouldn't expect.
