anyone having problems with connection lost errors?

Everything starts ok, sometimes I can play a round or two with no problems then a few minutes in, connection goes. Patched up to date. Sometimes I can play all day with no problems, then next few times nothing but connection lost.

Old computer where worked for most part--laggy sometimes. 1.5GB mem, Radeon 9600 128MB vid card, 2.1 ghz cpu and all settings at medium.

Motherboard got fried so my current system is now 2.0 GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS 512 MB vid card, Athlon 64 3800+ Dual Core with settings maxed.

Whenever I check during game, my ping rating is always between 125 and 150. How can I get ping down under 100.

Where are you connecting from, and what type of connection do you have?

to test your line and connection speed. (Tweak Test and Speed Test are the ones you want)

make sure everything is optimized....read their FAQ.

I live in Iowa (USA) and am hooked up to MediaCom Home High Speed Cable internet.
SPEED TEST from site you gave me.
Using Fort Worth Server...download 7119 Kbps...Upload 235 Kbps
Using Los Angeles Server...download 3381 Kbps...Upload 235 Kbps
Using Miami Server...download 6538 Kbps...Upload 235 Kbps

I just tried to play and right before error I was from 25-50 ping rating--lowest of all playing.

I have no known internet problems, just with BF2. I doubt this is anything but my default browser is Firefox (I also use IE7 occasionally). Once in awhile Firefox has a problem finding webpage, I click retry and it'll go to page. I am also connected to a router, but both laptop and desktop seem to be working ok. Laptop is not able to play BF2--it's about 3 yrs old and only 64MB video. I use Nortons Internet Security 2007. Firewall is set to allow BF2.

:dunno:

Maybe something, or someone, is "borrowing" your internet.

Make sure you don't have any virus/trojans/spyware/etc on your system. And if you have wireless, make sure your neighbors aren't borrowing your connection. (It should be secure, so that you need a password to get on)

Other than that :dunno:

Yesterday before work I re-did my router (set-up originally with older computer), I haven't tried to see if that helps yet. Thanks for pointers though!
