On the bright side of things...

...the update last night really screwed up the servers BUT it taught Mother Goose and I a valuable lesson-

Servers that aren't War is Hell or at least aren't LIKE War is Hell are useless. While perusing the web for other servers, here's what we had to endure-

No challenging play: Mother Goose is good here, he's a GOD on a lot of other servers.
Lazy, rude admins: A player Team Wounds EVERY round with a nade at the start. Not only does the Admin not care, he starts threatening to kick people for not finishing rounds fast enough.
Profane idiots with mikes: I swear a lot when I play, but I keep it to myself. On other servers, some people would just start swearing...a constant stream, even when they weren't upset.
Disgusting sprays: No explanation needed here.

I could go on. I didn't even want to play if it wasn't on WiH, and now I remember why. "Counterstrike Players" are the reason I didn't even want to play ANY online games up until a few years ago, and it's obvious why- how can you pick out the 10 good people on a server when the other 10 are acting like idiots?

Thanks to all of you who play here and make me NOT want to find you and stab you. And thanks to the admins for banishing the few I DO want to stab.

first pub server i joined with draven, 5 people with aimbots, 3 with wallhacks.

second server, pretty good, 1 with aimbot, 1 with wallhack, 1 lagging worse then me. and the fact that the server was mostly french didn't bother me.

third server(draven didn't follow), team wounders, lots of them, hundreds of them, so i went on a killing spree in the spawn(killed half the team in about 2 seconds), accused of aimbot, kicked off server.

I guess Im pretty lucky, I started playing on this server and havent gone anywhere else. When the servers go down I will go somewhere else for a minute but it is a short minute. This server is awesome.

Funny same thing happened to me last night. FF1 cleared out and I tried to join another server. If every mofo playing didn't have an AWP or autosniper I was amazed. I go into another server, and there are about 20 peeps playing. Three of them had the spinning/speedhack thing going on. It was basically hacker against hacker. They had scores like 42 to 1, and 56 to 3. :jerkit: So lame. Then I went to another server, and the maps changed every 80 rounds. 80 FREAKING ROUNDS?!!! I don't know about yall, but something about playing 80 rounds of dust just doesn't do it for me.

When things are bad I do play elsewhere but WarisHell is the best. I also recommend Gamerscoalition. I would say they are a very close second.

WiH has spoiled me. I cant stand AWP/autosniper. Spec'ing AWP players makes me sleepy.

And those "Ts and CTs In A Box" maps are crap. King of the hill? Iceworld? Where do mappers come up with this crap, and why do these maps ever see the light of day?

In my UT days, people made fun of CS because it was saturated with hackers. They were right. A goddamn admin (!) was hacking on yet another server a couple days ago.

Thanks for the praise all. But remember, although we try to provide a gaming arena with fair admins and zero tolerance for smacktards, it is the regulars, like yourselves, that provide the skill level and good sportsmanship that make WiH a favorite on so many server browsers. :thumbsup:

i hate playing cs outside of wih! in fact, i don't. i'm not going to have internet for a few weeks because i'm moving and i couldn't wait to come home from work today and play on wih; i was bummed to find out they are both down.

so we should start a list of servers that people at least find somewhat playable.

If I may, I'd like to vote that we we reduce the skill level to something a little more managable.

From my personal experience, the current skill level of WIH is approximately 98 on a 100 scale, and most people, especially me, find that unnacceptable. If it were to be reduced to say 60, or 40, I think more people would frequent the server.

As I am only a 2, I'm not sure that such a move would attract me to play this POS, but it is worth a try to get other, "midtalented" players to frequent this game.

Just my two freakin cents worth.

I hope you were joking with your post. This place does have a very high talent level, and it can be daunting at first, but after playing a while you do get better and it gets a lot more fun. I have watched you play some and you are a talented player, you just have to put in more time to get to a point where you are having dominating games.

As far as my two cents worth. I got lucky when I started playing CSS and stumbled upon this place. Jeff from HR convinced me to stick around here (After I insulted him on a day I was in a particularly pissy mood) and I have been addicted ever since. The gameplay and "aggressive" sportsmanship of the players here, not to mention the high quality server and admins make this place the only place I want to go to play CSS. Thanks!

I totaly agree with this, WiH is the bes CS server.

Earlier today I was playing on another server (WiH was empty) and I got banned for being 8-2 (supposedly had aimbot) on dust as CT (even though it took me half an m4 clip to kill an afk).

It makes me really thankful for the great job the admins do here.

I talk a lot of smack, only because I know that generally speaking everyone here knows I talk a lot of smack and mean no harm to anyone. Taken out of context, some things I post or say in game, can and may be taken the wrong way or seem rather coarse. Sorry about that.

Just thought I'd throw down a suggestion. When WiH is down and you feel you must scratch that itch that won't go away unless you blow someone's face off with a highly powered automatic weapon, Krackhouse servers are very good. They have good and fun custom maps and little hacking problems. Although, of course the company will never be quite as good as WiH.
