Meh... wasn't a fan of BF1942 (Red Orchestra mod for UT2k4 is so much better) and I hate EA.

Im assuming you hate EA for a personal reason, mostly because most gamers (myself included) see EA as one of the best game developers. Unless its because they've been buying out other companies. Anyway, thats all BLAH!
Yeah I cant wait for Battlefield 2 to come out altho, if CSS picks up like CS did i should be set in the online FPS area for awhile, only time will tell with that tho so we'll see.

Yes... EA needs to stop trying to create a monopoly... but I also just dislike their games. They never have blood in them (I wouldn't mind if they didn't have a million Medal of Honor games which takes place during a very brutal war). They just lack innovation (IMHO)... they need to come out with new games... there are nearly a billion expansion packs out for most of the MoH games.
I am sad to hear they have purchased some of Ubisoft (I like the company... they have some issues with support but they generally make good games). I don't like that they purchased to rights to use NFL players and ONLY they can (I forget the timeline).

There was a rumor that a demo would be released on xmas eve. This must be what the that rumor was really about. Just a video. But this is the first video I've seen showing infantry action!

If they release a server for the demo, War is Hell will be serving it up!

Why does a game have to have blood in it to be worthy of anything?
I think from a business perspective, it was very intelligent for them (EA) to buy the exclusive rights to the NFL players. Look at what ESPN forced them to do to their Madden 2005, they were forced to drop the price form $49.99 down to $19.99 during probably their best sales time.
From a game player point of view you have to hope that they still produce a quality game but personally I do not subscribe to purchasing the new release every year. There really aren’t many improvements from one single year to the next. I usually skip a year. (IMHO)

You know I joined the warishellgaming community because the name sounded familiar to me. Do you guys run a call of duty united offensive server?

Yes Shrink... that is my point... EA is trying to create a monopoly and I despise them for it. And games don't NEED blood... but when it fits in well (aka in a game that takes place during a VERY brutal war) I think it takes away from the game for not having it.

Wow, why is everybody so mean to me, seriously, I feel bad now.
Anyways, I saw a gameplay video of BF2, it looked quite cool! I love how the shadows cast onto vehicles and people now!

hmmmm, since this thread was conveniently bumped, i was playing cs the other day and chatter about bf2 came up. my laptop runs css fine, and bf1942 ran ok on certain settings, but how much computer power do you think it is going to take to run bf2?

Hopefully no more than what it takes to run BFV smoothly.
