Upgrading laptops?

Has anyone ever done this? Is it possible? Expensive? I have a decent laptop from dell, here are the stats:

P4 2.53 GHz
512 MB Ram
Mobility Radeon 7500 Vid Card
60GB Hard Drive
DvD player/CD burner

Is there a site I can go and run too see better specs on this, like is it 1 stick of ram or 256x2? How hard is it to upt he video card?

Lets just say i've never heard of upgrading one but if you can it is expencive. And I think the ram is one stick, if they even use sticks in laptops, because 2 takes too much room. IU dont know crap about laptops if you couldnt tell.

You can normally upgrade the ram and hard drive, but It can be expensive. You're probably better off just getting a new one.
