I got my aunt an old school NES for xmas, i had ulterior motives of course since she lives with us, its awesome. i've been playing gameboy advance and other handheld games for years. we have been having galaga competitions and playing the original mario that was included in the box when you bought the console. i got a bunch of games at game crazy this weekend for her ( me :D ). All i asked for for my birthday was a pair of blue overalls, a red shirt and a blue hat with an embroidered M on it! ( i didnt get it but i did get a cool grab bag box of things from Palladium books)

anyone else have this and or play it still? Whats your favorite games?

Super Dodge Ball. A great game thats even better if you have someone you can play against. Blades of Steel was an old favorite of mine as well.

teenage mutant ninja turtles 2 and 3.
maybe one of the megaman series.
i grew up on nintendo, almost literally. i was born the same year it came out and we had one a few years after that, but my mom gave it to goodwill without asking either me or my brother! now i have to relive my childhood on an emulator, it's not the same, although the selection of games is more than you can stand.
my brother loved marble madness, but i went mad and would lose my marbles trying to play that damn game as a kid.
i never played them as a kid, but the ninja gaiden series are pretty good.
as far as rpgs go, final fantasy 1 is good if you have the patience of a saint.
bards tale is good.

Favorite Mario game was Super Mario 3.

Never had a Zelda game of my own, had to play them at a friend's house.

LOVED TMNT:II (this was the arcade one, correct?).

I had Ninja Gaiden, and embarrassingly, I never beat it. I just wasn't good enough to beat the boss fight with your dad. In retrospect, Ninja Gaiden was probably my favorite NES game. It inspired me to learn how to make a ninja mask. I made a wooden ninja sword and ran around my basement fighting tons of bad guys.

I just got the Mario with no Duck hunt. Metroid Rules! I know everything there is to know about that game! I play the song on piano to.

Captured a metroid, a protoplasmic life-form that latches onto creatures and sucks out there life force, from planet sr388. He then brought them to zebes, the planet where Samus grew up. And conducted experiments on breeding them as deadly biological weapons. He found that when bombarded with gamma rays, the metroids reproduced at an alarming rate. So he had his space pirates create a mother brain, a giant brain in a jar, to monitor the breeding of metroids. You must understand that thousands of space pirates died during all this. Metroids are the deadliest beings in the galaxy. So then the galactic federation pulled a risky move. They decided to send in a single person, (Samus Aran) to infiltrate the fortress of zebes and destroy the mother brain. She did. But first she had to fight Kraid and ridley.

In metroid 2 return of samus, Samus is sent to Planet SR388 to eradicate the metroid species.

Some good things about this game were that you could save your progress by stepping on a save platform, Oh look, you don’t start out with just 30 HP any more! You get whatever it was when you saved. Also, the first appearance of the gravity jump, which allows you to continually jump until something hits you. Samus goes to SR388 and destroys all of the metroids, (Which is reeeeaally hard,) but as she goes back to her ship, a metroid hatchling follows her, thinking she is its mother.
Super Metroid.
In super metroid, the space pirates are at it again, back on zebes. The mother brain went nuke after it was destroyed in Metroid, so zebes is still cooling down from that. Samus uncovers another place in zebes called Maridia, which is just below the surface.
Remember the metroid hatchling from metroid 2? That’s what ridley was using to breed more metroids. As samus destroys the mother brain, it turns into something with impenetrable armor plating, and a blast that almost kills samus immediately. Then the metroid hatchling, now a full fledged Beta metroid, Latches onto the mother brain and sucks most of its life out, and gives it to its “Mother”. Samus is now at full health and has the extremely powerful blast. She kills it good.

Metroid fusion.
After all the metroids were destroyed, the parasitic organism called “X”, (Which was the main food of the metroid.) got out of control. An X parasite can be absorbed by any creature. egg X kill the host, and then mimic them. Human X hosts look like zombies. One of them infects samus, and gets sent to the BSL research station. The X mimicking samus, called the SA-X, breaks out, along with thousands of other X. The SA-X is now the most powerful being in the galaxy. Capable of destroying all life in it. Samus Had to be infused with metroid DNA to survive, and she can now absorb any free- floating X to regain ammo and health. Samus’s mission on the BSL station is being conduct by a computer operations unit samus has decided to call Adam, because that was the name of her former computer operations unit that always called her “Lady”. Later in the game, samus unauthorized goes to a restricted area and finds out that the galactic federation was breeding metroids to conduct experiments on them. Being Samus, she wants to destroy them. As she leaves it, the SA-X comes out of nowhere and starts shooting super missiles at everything. Then a bunch of metroid latch onto the SA- x and slaughter it. The restricted zone’s automatic self destruct system activates, and samus escapes. Adam is mad at samus for doing that, but still helps samus anyway. Samus then learns that there are no less than 20 SA-X’s aboard the station. Realizing this, Samus plots the station a course for planet SR388, and has five minutes to escape. She fights and destroys an SA-X, and another one comes and attacks an omega metroid, only to die horribly. Samus kills the SA-X, and flees the station as it is about to be destroyed.

HELLS YEAH MAN. I still have my atari ohh and my 3do with good old road rash. Though i have every system up to the ps2 no new consuls yet should be getting a wii soon. Ohh and hey Beer hells yeah on the SUPER DODGE BALL. I wore out so many controls on that game. My saturn and sega cd player have seen better days though.

i was a genesis/megadrive person, i never liked the nintendo stuff... they were white and grey for a start ( i hate apples for the same reason)

i had a master system and a megadrive then a pc then a playstation, then because i was flying so much i bought a gameboy color, it was in the airport and i wanted to waste some money before seeing my wife so i bought one with mario, i only had the one game, i later gave it to a neice as a present as she wanted one...

my youngest has a DS and a gameboy advance, i play the racing game on the advance but i want a psp...

we also have a ps2 which i play ratchet clank on and the namco collection ( which is also on gametap)

i miss my megadrive, but play my emulator faithfully

Mario 2 and 3. Spent so much time with my cousins at reunions playing both. Granted I was not very good because I was so young but still, they stand out as some of the best games I've ever played.

I may(or for legal reasons may not) have every nintendo game ever made on a CD with an emulator for the NES. My all time favorite was Final Fantasy I, but there really are a slew of great games. Contra was terrific considering it was one of the first games ever made. The Super Mario series was awesome, especially SM3.

As for other old school systems. I owned BOTH the Genesis and the Megadrive. Yes they were the same system, but I moved from the US to England in 1993 so I had to get another one. Road Rash was probably my favorite for the Genesis, either that or Shining Force. SF was and SF2 were freaking awesome games whose gameplay I have not seen in many games before or since.

Genesis....was awesome. Altered Beast, Jurrassic Park (You could play as the Raptor), Mortal Kombat (Got the Blood).

Of course the SNES had Fzero and Jurrassic Park as an FPS which was the first 3d kind of one I've played.

road rash was the shiznit! i was so happy when they got it for the PC, it was one of my very first games....

i still break out mario on the occasion now, though i tend to play alot of the mame games and gametap too....

i remember my wife and i completed yoshis revenge on a snes emulator... i miss the old days simply because the games were much simpler, you needed a d pad and a couple of buttons really *L* there were not that many eneies unlike games oday where they come at you from everywhere in 3 dimensions and you get finger tied trying to kill them all, it is probably why i like Roboblitz so much,
