Here is the video Chaos found. He can fill in the details about it. It gives a good view of infantry.

Wow. This game addresses all the infantry shortcomings I had a problem with in Point of existense. POE infantry fighting always looked and played very very jerky for me. This just seems incredible smooth. very Counterstrike like. From watching the Video though it sure seems like some of those vehicles could use a little more armor? I guess one tank blast into the side of a humvee IS realistic, but it makes you think twice about getting into one. Tanks on the other hand look like badboys. Thanks for finding the video.

In this video, you can hear a lot of the little popping sounds all over. Is that an audio problem? Or is that the in-game ambient battle sounds?

Thats ingame I think... kind of annoying but realistic I believe.

that pop corn sound is the gunfights happing all around you. In one of the LRRP videos they asked about that sound and asked if it ambient noise placed in there to heighten the mood or actual fighting.
EA rep stated that the sounds were other fire fights going on around you. And after watching some of the Military channel with modern combat involved, i realized that they have almost a true to life sound.

all i can say is.............................. WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yea and that popping noise is the background fire that is like far away from you........like go see movie black hawk down....then you can see how it is very realistic.......

That is cool and pretty accurate. I grew up during the Vietnam war in Vietnam and that's what it sounded like. for the ambient sounds.

Some other news from Battlefield 2 than screenshots. You will find Battlefield 2 in the stores from 23 June 2005. The minimum system specs will be a 1.7Ghz P4 running 512MB RAM and 128MB 3D, if you run a Nvidia 5700+ or ATI 8500+ it would be great. The game will only support windows XP, not earlyer versions like Windows Me. All these information has been announced by Elektronic Arts, so these are no rumours!
So, we are still waiting for the demo eh
Total Battlefield 2 is reporting that the Battlefield 2 demo will be released mid-June, and PlanetBattlefield revealed that the demo will feature one map. The game is expected to hit the store shelves on June 17 in Europe and on June 23 in the US.
I think i will be safe with my gforce 6800 oc dont you? lol

I'm pretty sure that explosion is on low detail with a crappy video card.

I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be any officially released screenies that are taken on a computer that can only handle low detail..

Looks awsome, but one thing iam woundering. If you have played BFV from a distance the grass was not visible, so if you were lying on a hill you were out in the open. is that gunna be the same in BF2? :yuck:

From what I heard, the answer would be No, but who knows, just have to wait and see.

I wouldn't hold your breath for something spectatular with the grass. No game has been able to do really good with it.

I wouldn't hold your breath for something spectatular with the grass. No game has been able to do really good with it. :thumbsdown:joint ops did a pretty good system of model blending and altering draw distance with the scope to hide objects in grass, BUT, if they moved at all you could see them which was pretty realistic.
