Health cheat?

I was playing the other day with a player who was unreal at staying alive. It felt like I could empty a whole clip into him and he wouldn't die. I won't mention his name because I don't know if its a cheat and Im not gonna tarnish someone's name if its not. It's just a question I have. It could be because he was simply better than I was which given my track record of late is a more likely reason.

No such thing.
The closest thing to a health cheat would be speed cheating and nade dodging. The latter simply detects an incomming nade and forces your character to move as far back as possible.

What I've noticed is that sometimes when my fps sucks (<20) It will look like I'm emptying an entire clip into someone when I'm not. Very frustrating to say the least.

We've been investigating the "health cheat". In every instance, the ping of the shooter and the target is high. In addition, Source hit boxes aren't exactly perfect so hit registration is problematic. We're almost willing to bet that if a net_graph 3 was done on both the shooter and target, we'll see that either or both loss and choke is high. As a result, we have to conclude that there is no such thing as a health cheat.

I've seen the same thing on occassion.

There have been cases where I've seemingly emptied an entire clip (or two) into an enemy, and he's done the same to me. Miraculously, neither of us died. This actually happened to me last night in chateau.

I never looked at the pings of both players when this happened, as my ping is usually very low on this server. I'll take a look next time and see if it matches what the admins have seen.

Honestly, this is less frustrating for me than having someone jump around a corner and kill me with a headshot, all before I see them appear.

That makes sense then as sometimes I do okay against the player in question. I've never looked at my ping and compared but my ping is almost always in the low 50's I bet it just got bogged down by ftp traffic or something.

And yes, I aggree with the wall hacking thing. It is by far the most annoying because its hard for the players to tell for sure. Honestly, most of the poeple that hack could probably beat me without it :) If only they would give themselves the chance.

Got to agree with Jwolly about the "unloading the clip thing". I dont think its a hack though. Most of the time the players are within punching distance of each other spraying and praying. Happened to me twice on chateau last night. I unloaded like this and miracausly landed 2 headshots. My health was 1 and 4 respectively afterward. I think its the spray.

It depends on the gun. A TMP will just go all over the place, but gets lots of random headshots. Same with the M4A1.

Only gun that I've notice that sucks on full auto is the AK. I'm surprised that you aren't staring at the ceiling after the fifth round.
