Having trouble connecting to VAC enabled servers?

Try opening up your ports on your firewall...

If your configuration software requires port numbers, please use the following:

UDP 1200 (used for friends service)
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive
TCP 27040 and 27041 only for CyberCafe Owners

I middle two are the ones needed.

I had this problem getting on secured servers so I figured I would post it for others who are having the same problems.

Ok B english I didn't even know I had a firewall. Never the less I can't connect. Could it be something else?

If you don't have a physical firewall, as in a box that routes your traffic from you cable/dsl modem, then you probably have your firewall turned on through windows xp. When service pack 2 is installed it turns it on automatically. To turn that off go into control panel and then windows firewall. You can also open those ports up with the new and improved windows firewall, but thats another lesson... :D

I don't have Windows Firewall on, but I have the Norton Worm Protect on and I even turned that off. I can't connect to WiH but I've been able to connect to other Secured servers.

hmm i got in earlier today after i opened up those ports but now all of a sudden i cant get back in, these problems are bugging me now

OK. I went to windows firewall and unchecked all valve products and rebooted and it worked for me. Hope that helps.

On the server side, we see the message "No Steam Logon" each time you guys tried to join. Then it disconnects you.

We've turned off VAC Beta on FF #2 until it comes out officially. We'll turn it off on FF #1 when we get a chance when there are no players on.

VAC Beta is only for connectivity debugging. And as you can see, there are still some problems with connectivity.

hey wihadmin, can you enable "sv_turbophysics 1" on the servers, it basically makes the physics more realistic, as in barrels don't push you back(and you can actually stand on them) and some other stuff.

Great now I've got this damn problem, I can't connect to FF#1 now. And I was playing on it earlier tonight, but all of a sudden I can't get on wtf?
