This is a great DVD player and the USB port means you can use a thumbdrive or external hard drive to play movies directly (obviously this is useful if you download movies a lot).

Lowest on PriceGrabber is $65 at Circuit City AFTER $10 rebate so, you can also try to PM to BB and get it for a few dollars less since BB price is OTD.

Whats HD upconversion?
Is this a HD-DVD player?

HD upconversion means it'll accept a standard def DVD and output it in 480i/p, 720p, 1080i. It does not play HD-DVD or Blue-ray DVD.

Is there any quality differnce between a standard DVD that gets upscaled and output in 720p
vs's
An HD-DVD that gets output normaly in 720p (on a standard HD-DVD player)

There should be a difference bc a HD DVD contains information that the SD DVD doesn't have. The upconverting player is extrapolating the extra info to make it into 720p where as a true HD player doesn't have to bc the info is alrady on the HD DVD itself.
