In the 2+ years WiH has been in existence we have never actively sought donations. This quarter is different.
The Owners are not wealthy. They are regular guys with families to feed and bills to pay. The recent acquisitions of the latest servers have not been cheap. Even though they stay full they have not generated the contributions we need to support the community. Granted, last quarter was a big success thanks to Vortex’s generous donation of awesome prizes. But after that we may have gotten a little to confident in our ability to generate the needed funds to support the quality and number of servers we currently enjoy.
We also understand that Christmas is coming and a lot of ppl gave generously last quarter so this quarter it is tougher for ppl to donate. Even though we have over 2500 signed up members, in truth there are really only around 300 active members in the community. Although that is nothing to sneeze at we are still, so far, falling short this quarter. Clearly if we could average $10 per member there would be no problem.
We understand if you can’t donate and we don’t think any less of anyone who doesn’t. We all have different circumstances. So if you can help out, great! We would appreciate it.
We’ve also decided to push the drawing out to the end of the quarter instead of December 17th as previously announced. This will give ppl more time to donate.
As always for every $10 you donate you get 1 entry into the hat for our quarterly drawing. Donate $20 and get 2 entries; $30 gets you 3 entries and so on. So the more you donate the better your chances are of winning.
For this quarter’s prize the first name drawn will win a $100 newegg.com gift code and a reserved slot. We’ll also draw 2 additional names out of the hat for reserved slots. The reserved slots will be for all servers that have this feature and will be good until the next drawing.
