in the uk all the notes are different sizes the 5 pound note is the smallest the 50 pound note is the biggest, and they also have little rough patches especially for the blind that feels different.
moving to coinage in many ways killed tipping in the uk too who wants $300 in coins? i have noted until recent years the dollar has been one of the most boring notes and probably one of the easiest to forge.. i like the autralina plastic money it is great

No, the blind represent an unfair impediment to the rest of the world. It sucks when you're walking down a hallway full of people and a blind person is coming the opposite way swinging that damn stick around like a baseball bat, scares the crap out of me. And then why the hell do blind people get to bring their flea and tick infested dogs everywhere? And man, blind people driving is the worst.

I think we should just do away with currency all together and give out cards or devices. Everywhere funds are exchanged would have a swiper or scanner, and no cash would be exchanged. You could even build it into a cell phone.
People that can't afford a cell phone?
The gov could buy and distribute the money widget using the money now spent by the mint trying to design and distribute new bills that nobody whines about.
No CASH!
That would be sweet. Give me an eyeball scanner widget that automatically transfers funds electronically. Oh wait, the people with no eyeballs would bitch. How about a finger print scanner!? Dang them guys with no arms!!

Hell, I'd get one of those subdermal chip implants if they ever became standardized.
That aside, I don't mind the current bills being redesigned. As a cashier, I'm not fond of today's currency anyway... especially new stacks of bills being difficult to separate from each other.

On a more serious note, it's much harder to take a hand than wallet. For one, the mugger would be guaranteed a fight. More probable is that mugger would go after other things (handheld devices, clothing accessories, baggage, etc.) Hell, if it was that easy to take body parts, I should get mugged for my kidne- hmmm....
