So, I usually use Firefox, but since I installed Windows on two new computers and updated them, I had the chance to use IE7. I don't especially care for the way it looks, to me it is a little too sparse on icons, sort of confusing. I prefer the standard/old school look myself. What I did like was the fact that they are incorporating tabs, that is nice. But, the nicest function I saw was the tab preview button. It would show you a thumbnail of all the tabs you had open, I wish FF had something like that.

Anyone else on IE7?

Keep it constructive, and not bashing.

there is a plugin for FF that allows the similar functionality of the preview the tabs thingy, i use IE7 all thetime (unless i am looking for something that may lead my browser astray or sometimes when i suddenly go to a site that is not ie7 freindly...

i agree with the icons/menues things i would much rather be bale to customise them as i could before i have been using it since beta and i still can;t remeber where half the stuff is i need, so i generally use the keyboard now *L*

what would have been good os the ability to keep ie6 and ie 7 on the same machine, there is also a registry hack ( or was) for ie7 that made it render like ie6, this is what ie6 should have been even so it is not the best blocker of popups and stuff in thre world, old habits die haed in my case and previous version of ie were always much quicker and took less resources then firefox or similar 3rd party browsers

I use IE7, have to say I am not that impressed with it yet. I don't like the icon formats and several of my regular sites often don't work in IE7.

Marcus, it is to the left of the first tab (only when you have multiple tabs open).

I've been using IE7 at work for the past few days and only had it crash once. It's okay, much better than IE6. However, Opera is still far superior in my opinion.

That it is, very nice. I have noticed alot of sites dont come up when I use IE 7 as well. When I first started using it I got really frustrated by the icon config. My biggest gripe was the smaller back and forward buttons though:dunno:

all in all i have to use both browsers and have upgraded to IE7 and FF2. things i've noticed about them: both are generally faster in rendering pages. IE7 is great for me connecting to DRAC, KVMoIP, and my mgmt controllers for environmental systems. FF2 is great for everything else AND has a built in spell checker that works in most text boxes (all that i've come across so far).

just my two cents.

I just got the upgrade. I kind of miss the favorite menu opening up in the left as a column. Some of the pages I frequent actually look better, or more readable, with that open.

Now everything is full screen and kinda fat looking.

I guess I'll live.

I'm sure I'll have more comments later. Just now is my first look.

ie search still is crapola compared to FF, and compared to being able to launch a web page in an actual explorer window IE has gone backwards imo... (that technique has saved me on a couple of occasions from a random spyware error in IE 6 proper... can;t do it now)
