"report post"

what does the "report post" button do? i want to press it, but it looks dangerous...like one of those big shiny red buttons with a "do not touch!" sign above it. is it like a "this post is bad!" button? must press...NO! must resist!

It sends a message to me telling me that such and such a post is a bad post bc of broken links, or just has derogatory crap that other people posted. Not too many people use this feature. And I tend to not do anything about the post unless it's really nasty.
