Well I suppose this could go under the soapbox or CS, but its kinda a rant on CS. Anyways must have been one of those days where everything sucks, and CS was no different. Tonight there was some major bullshit going on. I play to have fun and stats aren't important that much, but tonight there was some crazy team stacking and it made the entire CS experience suck ass. Seriously when Ts have 4-5 guys with 15-20+ kills and our top killer has 5 kills thats not god damn fun.

:x :x :x :x

I won't name names *cough Saur Saur * cough cough* but there were 2-3 maps tonight that were f-ed up, and no one, well on the winning team seemed to care. It was pretty ridiculous I must say, because I usually put up with a decent amount of shit regarding bad scores or bad games, but tonight was just not cool at all. It was quite possibly the most unfun CS I've played... ever, even tkers are more fun that tonight.

Theres my bitching done for now, but I'm sure others who were on, or experienced it would attest to how ugly it was.

I will be the ******* and say

How you think Saur and me got good?
We got PWNED for quite some time.

I will say this- the auto-teams were waaaay better.

And I was on the winning end of the teams more often than not tonight. Even so- what challenge is it for me to win when I'm on a team with 3 to 6 of the top ranked players on the server?

I think that at least one of the servers should be auto-select. The team stacking is out of hand most of the time. I don't even CARE if I get better stats or whatever- I have other games I play and I don't have time to "practice" this one. I do my best for my team and that's enough for me.

Mostly I just think it's stupid to log onto a server and know- absolutely KNOW- that one team is going to win because of the people who are on it. That's silly.

And I'll say say this...

I went ahead and popped the hood on my ride....

Put the killer cvar coon tune on that beeotch.

And still got pwded.

It's all about the skills man.

I'd say the cvar stuff was all crap, but since I sux so bad, I really can't tell. LOL

I do know I got a cdm rate of 85, which, from what i hear is the stuff.

But I still suck large rocks.

I did wander off noto a couple other servers though, and I went about 50-50. They was kinda smacks and had no communication or strategy. And AWP's were prevalent.

So it kinda sucked. I;m sur eglad WIH has done away with that pos.

But as far as a cvar tweak turning you into some kimnd of god? Didn';t happene dudes. Just practice.

Dang it.

:dunno:

i just went on a 20 person server (about 16 - 18 all night) and ended atleast 2:1 on over half the maps.

And I'll say this too. I went to 4 other places tonight, and they all blew big chunks. 2 had AWP in every hand. That was no fun, what withj me and my miserable newb cannon and default rifle. I still went 50%+, and tried to tell them their deal was jujnk, but they wouldn;'t listen. Ha!

It's amazing how a situation can become ingrained with some people and they have no desrie to do anything different.

My spelling is suxing.

Theo ther two, one I suxed at and the oher I kicked butt at, but again, even one the one I was like 7-4, there was one guy 35-3, and there was nobody trying to call plays, or say bomb go b or anything. Just rush again into the jaws of death.

Of course this guy got real offended when I said his server sux. I felt bad for him. But since I know what the real kings of this ame look like, and I knwo it wasn't like him,....I felt I had a leg up.

So I told him he sux.

LOL

No, I didn't get like 50-1 like some of you hotrods might have done, but I did good. It would have been a hoot had I been so killer as to be able to talk some smack, and then pwn them on the way out. LOL

I don't know. I just really like it here. Everyone is cool. Everyone has fun. And the qadmin keeps the riff raff out.

How much better can this game get?

I'm so happy!

...tonight was just not cool at all. It was quite possibly the most unfun CS I've played...

if you are not having fun for any reason, your best bet is to spectate or leave the server, go get a drink, smoke, whatever, and come back 10 minutes later. imbalances always prompt someone to switch and even it out. sometimes things get better that way.

I think that at least one of the servers should be auto-select.

The last time we did this, we ended up with an empty server (the autoselect) and a full server (non-autoselect).

From all these posts, this does appear to be a problem. I'll bring it up with the other admins and owners.

Down with the Auto-Select! I mean what if teams get auto-stacked? With auto-select on you can't switch sides to help balance it out. I think I ran into this problem more often then people purposefully stacking teams.

When the teams get "non-auto-stacked" nobody does anything about it either. Don't pretend that you see some of the best players constantly switching teams- they want to win. Even though I'm not great at this game I do enjoy winning more than losing.

When I see Grim, Saur, Raptor, and maybe even Raleigh on one team I generally think, "Oh *&#(. Whoever goes up against that is in trouble."

I DO see people changing teams and occasionally being forced to change teams. But it's usually not the people who make a difference. I'll switch teams all you want but unless you need a bullet sponge to distract Grim while you stab him, I'm not the guy you need to switch teams.

How dare you put Ral's name near me, Saurs, and Raptor!
Shame on u.

Whats with people and trying to knife me..... no one can ninja me!

Yes I am whore at it but it's not my fault I have everyone switching over to my side.

Sometimes I will switch over to help.... but even that doesn't help....

Well I should have done what loop suggested but I didn't and was frustrated, but whatever its fine now that its Saturday :hump: :yaya: Anyways might as well use bob's quote of "take this as you will". Wasn't saying anything about the auto-select stuff or not, just kinda pissed last night.

even when there is no auto select, you cannot always even out the teams. you can only even out the teams number wise...skill wise there is no way to take like the bottom player on one team and switch them with the top on the other which means there is no leveling of skill, only sheer numbers which sometimes only provides the good players with more cannon fodder. with auto-select on one can even out numbers almost as easily as with out auto select by simply rejoining the game when you're dead jut as you would switch teams with m when you were dead.

the only true way to get "equal" teams on a consistant basis would be some server mod that after three rounds changed the teams according to people's death/kill ratio. so untill that day comes, why not have randomly generated teams that have the CANCE to be even instead of teams created out of lust for better stats or the fear of losing what ever the cause may be?

...some server mod that after three rounds changed the teams according to people's death/kill ratio...

there is a server mod that evaluates the skill weight of each team, and if one team is running the board a few rounds it begins to swap higher ranked players with lesser from opposing teams.

Tykwer

then when in the world is it not being implemented...wihadmins any words you'd like to say about that?

We've been tracking the progress of this mod for a while. We are still waiting for a point in it's development where it is stable and not crash the servers.

There actually is a way to auto balance by skill... sort of. There are plenty of servers out there that auto balance the teams by number as you enter the server and then about the third to fifth round in the server auto balances the teams based on the number of kills. So the top killer goes on one team, then the second on the next, etc. This make the rest of the games more even. I once thought this to be a good idea and have actually suggested it before. Although, my recent involvement in a new clan, I do appreciate having the flexability to party up with my clan mates. I think the best policy is for everyone to be respectful and balance the teams out. I do understand Grims comment about just practicing and getting better but honestly Grim how good can we get when we die instantly? I've seen games where it is like Grim, Needle, Saur, Monos, Prymer, Lord Raleigh, you name it all on the same team while some of us are in a team of newbs... I say even it up so that we can have a friggin' match not a slaughter fest.

Disclaimer -- I have seen Grim switch to a losing team a lot recently to even things up. I just wish that would happen more often with everyone!
