Ever since we've brought up the forums online, the rep system is here. We noticed that over time, it became meaningless where clanners are artificially pumping up their clan mates reps. At the same time, people are -repping others for fun and just to get back at a person.

So over the next couple of weeks, we will be changing how the rep system works. Only admins can give out +reps to people. They can't give out -reps to anyone. To complement this, we're going to activate the infraction system where owners and certain forum moderators can give out infractions to users who've displayed unwanted behaviors. Once they accumulated X amount of infractions, the system will automatically begin to limit their forum access with the ultimate penalty being banned from the forums.

The goal here is to allow us to track those who've contributing to the community (populating servers or posting useful meaningful posts). It also allows the owners to recognize and reward the contributors with VIP passes, prizes, and/or other WiH promotional products. In addition, this system will allow us to actively inform users of their unwanted behaviors.

It makes sense... the admins will undouthedly be unbaised and hopefully generous when giving out some of their "beyond repute" reputation.:thumbsup:

I will be requiring the admins to give a reason for each +rep. I will allow all users to see who gave them the +rep. From time to time, I will be auditing the +reps that's been handed out to ensure that admin +rep actions are fair and justified.

The infraction system is like soccer's penalty cards. It's like -rep with real consequences. If an user gets an infraction, a certain amount of points associated with that type of infraction then it sticks with him for X amount of days. That serves as his warning. If within those X days, he gets other infraction, which adds to his infraction points, and it goes over some predefined limit, the system automatically takes action such as removing his rights to post for X amount of days. Once he's served his time, the system will allow him to post again. Repeatedly accumulate infractions will cause the system to up the penalty to something else and ultimately a permaban from the forums.

Thank you, I try to remain bias when it comes to reps, and I spread them around appropriately.

Alright, am I the only person here who doesn't care about +-rep? I mean, I don't come to a message board to get +rep.

At least now it's just the admins that can give and take rep, instead of just anybody.

Yeah I think I +rep one person ever, and never -rep anyone... Was part of a group that got in trouble for rep manipulation on another forum I frequent though :D

go one -rep once and 2 grey ones :dunno: but I got alot of rep for bsa things. but when this will take effect, will our gained rep be reseted?

so, will are gained rep's be reset or will we keep are earned rep's. - I earned all the + reps and two -reps (1st for starting a neg thread) :slap: I take full responsibility for that and another -rep for barking at a 2142 dbacon post again I take full responsibility.

I hope that they will remain, but again i believe in your system and your rules.

are you serious! i worked hard on my rep. Never padded and made it to #7 on the overall rep board... Blis you got yours to number 3 with all that action in the over the hill forum!

lol I didnt know anyone else checked their rep ranking. I only discovered you could not that long ago.I was looking at the members list and i thought "hey,i wonder if I could sort by..woah i'm number 3!!"

I guess I'll never catch ichi now :biggrinjester:

I'm glad for that. Some lowlife had to get a shot in at me before the lame manipulation was cancelled out. I don't care if I never get +rep but getting -rep because someone is a child is terrible.

^^ lol, I never really got it either. Though it is kind of ironic that everyone was rep padding when we can't stat pad on the server... maybe server rules should apply here?

when someone with no rep(new to forums) or a negative rep total tries to give you any rep, + or -... it doesnt affect what your total rep is...
