eve looks considerably better in DX10 then it currently does, but what they charge($20 a month) and what you get(GM's basically telling you, tough shit when something is broken) don't mesh.

I'd rather see in-game screenshots though bc rendered screens often don't reflect the true quality of in-game. Am I correct in assuming that even with a DX10 video card, you won't see the benefits unless the games are also written to take advantage of the DX10 APIs?

Well...
1. those are not in game screenshots, it's like showing those rendered crysis faces... it meens nothing as it's just showing capabilities and not the real thing

2. DX10 is deffintly going to make a nice upgrade for most of us one day but right away if not the best time for multiple reasons.

a. all those games right there support DX9 as well as DX10, DX10 won't be required for years

b. the first generation are incredibly power hungry, the later ones should be more efficient

c. the price is insane, it's like this for every new set of video cards - in time obviously they will drop

d. you saw my links where it clearly slowed vista performing slowly on the ATI cards, I'm not saying that it can't be improoved but the 3D backrounds of Vista is a requirement for DX10 and a slow-down to all games... atleast at this present stage



Those games all look great but untill everything kicks in, which should be 1/2 years DX10 and Vista are no where near as appealing as those few screenshots are.

And I was right behind all you droolers for months until I could actualy say more then "I'm waiting for DX10"... theres a lot to consider and all these other points have been broughten up over the internet if you just look hard enough

i will not be getting vista or dx10 card until i can afford one read maybe 2 years or so from now ( unless i win lotto :D)

according to the sites (especially alan wake) they are, whether they are playable though at that res is something else
