The last patch killed my game.

I've had a problem with sound loop game freezes since I bought CS Source. Every few hours my game would freeze up for about 10 seconds and I would hear a looping sound, like a stutter. Since the last patch, I now encounter this freeze five to ten times a map :wallbash:

I've tried everything. I've read dozens of threads dedicated to this problem with no working solution. I've checked my PC (memory and everything), updated my bios, all drivers, lowered my sound setting(including direct X), there is nothing left for me to do :dunno:

Valve blames this problem on my Sound Blaster card and suggest I play with no sound. I would like to try that but I can't seem to find the command that disables sound in CS Source. Yes I tried stopsound, it doesn't work :jerkit:

BFV POE and Pacific Fighters work fine

what are you using, the Live5.1? i had trouble with that card too with a few games... but upgraded mine to the Audigy2 and have been happy ever since.

The Game Engine has issues with certain sound cards. I had a massive sound loop with HL2 because of the problems the game has with the Nforce2 chip set. But never had that problem in CS:S, except that with each patch, I start having more and more problems with CS:S. Hard crashes mostly.

this may be a stupid idea but have you uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall it?

redy,

post your system specs, and the driver versions of your soundcard and your videocard.

That is wierd. I have the same problem but it happens every 3 maps sometimes. But when it happens to me I have to close the game and reopen it. I would sugget using the motherboard sound card. I just use the one on my MSI 845E mother board and it works fine. plug your speakers into that soundcard and change all your settings in control panel back to your mother board sound card and I bet that will fix the problem.
I used a profesional grade audio recording sound card and I had that problem to. My mother board card works great.
