Strike at Karkand : Infantry Only
MEC: The most important thing is to get your squad over (Blue Dot) and defend to make sure noone gets by this point to sneak to the Back island. One place to sit and make sure this doesnt happen is the (Yellow Dot) building where snipers like to sit and camp the spawn point for the Hotel CP. That gives you an area to hold your ground away from most grenades, but you are still vulnerable to them! I have a trick to get on the taller building closer to the US that will provide more cover and a better shot at the Mounted MG on the uncap forward spawn.(But thats just for me and my squad, i know im mean!) Make sure there are 2 squads that are defending (Light Green Line, Dark Green Dot) to make sure the US doesnt get to the Suburb or the Square CPs. All the Lonewolfs and small squads will tend to jam up that center area for your team to defend the Hotel. Now you are in prime spot to defend the Hotel if it is turned, you should be able to get to it extreemly quickly. If your team does end up losing a flag in the rear, either suicide or jump on a grenade(trust me they are everywhere) and spawn in the backend. Make sure you instruct your squadies to do the same so you will be a force to reckon with. Once you clear your rear island focus on getting back to the front of the map. Either clear out the other flags or rejoin the frontline if they have failed to take other flags. If the US has captured the main island and has created a stalemate at the bridge (both land and destructable) try and sneak (Pink Line) to the Hotel or Square. This will help divert forces to either spawn at their uncap or at the square which will give your team a shot at taking back the train accident. Also, while this is going on, if you have the hotel, try and create a front against the Uncap (White Curve) while having 3 or 4 of your squadies try and take the Square... If you take the square first, immediatly swing around(indirect route) to the Hotel to create a solid front. The rest of your team will catch up to you. Keep from being wiped off the map is your only focus to win this map. If you do lose a rear CP, remember, Die immediatly and spawn in the back end to clear it out!
US : Spawn at either Red box and press where the arrows show. You are trying to sneak past MEC defenses. If you are able to get past the left side, either take the square via behind the flag approach(Yellow Lines), or take the suburb(usually easier) If you make it past the right side, either go for the train accident(safer) or be gutsy and go for the Cement Factory(Commander is usually here). If you take train, go for Gatehouse then Factory. If you take Cement, go Factory then Warehouse. All in all your entire objective is to take the whole back island. Once this happens, I usually defend the island, you have the bleed, dont get greedy. The rest of your team will work the 2 sided attack by coming from the uncaps and other men will be rushing the train accident from the Gatehouse(usually they get train back pretty quickly) Once you get the back island you want to create the big front war across the river that the MEC usually tries to create and maintain in Vanilla Karkand.
When attacking try and stay on the ground(low areas) as much as possible, dont take high spots as its easier to be killed by the defense due to them being at the same level as you. If you are defending, take the high areas, it is easier for you to kill below you and also, if you are in limited access areas (Warehouse rafters) you can easily defend even height access to your position. Every time I have tried to Attack from the high ground, i end up losing. Every time i defend from the low ground i lose. My squads have had more success with the Attack from low, defend from high style.
