This absolutely infuriates me and I leave the server every time it happens. First, I *hate* the MEC, but I will play them if I random into them. But what really irks me is when I finally land on the USMC, and BOOM, mid-round I am suddenly on the MEC. Is this something the server can turn off? It is really annoying, and yet another hinderance to me on what I feel to be the already falling apart WiH servers. I think the problem came when the #1 server was no longer the only WiH server. SF and AF and all infantry and Best Of all played their part in separating the great group of players that could religiously be found on WiH Ranked #1. I was a really terrible player (not that i'm that great now) back in the first days of BF2, but I had 10x more fun playing with the regulars and knowing 80% of the people on the server. I will still always play WiH religiously though, and am looking forward to our BF2142 server. Thanks WiH admins and owners, and please look into the team swap!

What is happening is you are being team swapped via the auto-balance.

As you said in your post, you switched from the mec/china to the us side. You are not the only one who does this, thereby making the us side having more players than the other side. So as soon as someone from the side that has too many people the server will move to the other side to balance it out.

If this function is turned off, you will have 50 vs 12 sided teams, which will create more problems.

The auto-balance feature will stay. I'm sorry you don't like being auto-balanced. If you're in a squad, it won't auto-balance you.

Also, our servers are doing very well since 1.4. Both servers are making their way up the server rankings and both are populated 24/7, with the Infantry server being full or near full all the time.

You'll find the regulars here play on both servers, and some also expanded into Counter-strike Source as well.

IIRC the order for the switching is lone wolf first, then squad member, squad leader and commander last.

There have been occasions (very few) where squad members get swapped. I chalk this one up to being one of the last people getting in the server or the person in the server with the least amount of time in game. Usually if you're in a squad you're safe.

Exactly... I remember Green saying he got switched one day which was hard to belive sense he was in a squad

But the very next day it happend to me...

So squad up and you are almost always safe like Rajun said

I'm curious about something here.

What's so bad about being MEC? Once you get unlocks, there's really not any difference between the two unless you're talking about advantages/disadvantages in winning a map. And if you're switching just because you think you can't win as MEC, well...

;)

I don't think it has much to do with weapons, more to do with the maps.

Notice that the US is almost always attacking and has an uncap main, while the MEC/China are almost always on the defense and no uncap main.

yeah... *shrug*.. for me, I really don't care which side... and for somewhat to not play on the server because they can't play USMC 100% of the time is strange to me...

I get switched all the time when I'm in a sqad. Does that mean it's NOT auto balance but some admin borking my squad?

BUT BUT as the MEC you get the AK! what more do you want?

admins rarely switch players. When we do, we ask the person first. And then we switch whole squads/clans at a time. It's a pain for us to switch players, so we don't do it. Most likely it's the auto-balance system.

Thats one good thing about POE2, those panzerfausts are pretty cool

anyway, if you dont want to be switch MAKE a squad, there you go. Now you
have up to 6 groupies that will do what you want, not that bad!

i do not like playing on one side actually doing okay then getting autoswitched right at the end, just before the end of the round, and being on the losing team, it is more annoying then anything else.... i actually like mec, the ak is cool :D

Sorry I wasn't aware it was balancing, I just thought it was doing it as some sort of game feature.

Don't worry Satanic, on a somewhat regular basis I get switched multiple times in a gaming session. Yes, I like to be a lone wolf. Finding a good squad that I enjoy being in does not happen too much.

You used to squad up with me and warlord from time to time, if you see us on hop in! Then we can all avoid the team switch together.

I have not been playing much lately due to being on leave away from my dwelling. I will try to get in some game time this week as I have the honor* of going tdy for a month starting next week.

On topic, I do find the autoswitching only slightly annoying. I generally do a global chat something along the lines of "booo" and then continue playing. Overall, I like it enabled to keep the numbers even. It would be nice to have some server setting that autoswitches entire squads around after a map if the average difference (maybe after 4 rounds, or 2 maps) between the scores are 100+. Of course people would complain about it though.
