Points duly noted from the above replies. I apologize for the attitude earlier; it is due to genuine frustration supported by several libatious devils (...no one likes their favorite server getting nuked!). I think a lot of folks invisioned the "Best Of" rotation being ammended with the excellent addition of Jalalabad, not of it being fundamentaly eliminated altogether. I can only guess that from what other people I know and myself have felt, that not doing so (i.e., just adding Jalalabad) came as a shock and dissappointment for many others. There are tons of Vanilla servers... And for better or worse, adding expansion pack maps instantly excludes many Bf2 players. The biggest boon with having the "Best Of" WiH server was an escape from the tediousness of larger maps while bringing in many loyal WiH members and guests day after day. The short and sweet: fiddling with one of the servers is cool, but nuking the ye olde standby "Best Of" is depressing! But, since I am not in the community, it is of course your legitimate choice to change that... Just a voice from that outside. And I'm sure I'm only one of many. At any rate, good luck with it; I'm sure you'll still find me wading aimlessly through the grass somewhere in the hills above the Dalian nuke plant from time to time, lol...

All of the Infantry players mourn the loss of the old map rotation but you might want to reevaluate the tact used in your posts complaining about it.

With the BF2 booster packs, mods, and game-modes, it is hard for server operators to know exactly how the player base will react to changes. Players typically don't tell us what they like, only what they don't like. So our changes tend to be reactive vs. proactive.

With 1.4 and the promised of increased server stability, we mixed things up a bit to try to accomodate to the needs of our regulars. While the vanilla BF2 server worked out well, the combined Best of BF2/AF server didn't work so well. So we changed it over to AF. It was populated over the weekend, but it took some work to get it populated and the fluctuations in server population is drastic.

What we're going to do later today is to convert that AF server to an infantry only server running the maps Road to Jambalaya, Sharqi, Karkand, and Mashtuur. Let's see how the infantry mode works out on this.

Back to the 1st post of this thread.... While we appreciate you taking the time to tell us, we didn't really appreciate the manner in which you told us. Many of us have put in a lot of time, money, and effort into the servers on which you played on for free. A bit of sensitivity and respect goes a long way when giving criticisms.

you're not the only one that doesn't like the AF maps. I have all the booster packs and SF. but I don't play them because the basicly suck. they were a waste of my money, but still I kept buying them hoping they were maybe better then the last one.

as to the best of server rotation. I really don't like it either. I know what you're trying to say. if this server set up happened 2 months ago, I would have had no place to play bc I always hated the big BF2 maps 2. but now I'm a chopper whore and like flying around in the chopper or being a gunner. so now I play on the vanilla bf2 server only.

the best of server is not a best of server anymore IMO. but the owners had to make a hard decision. bc they didn't want to stop hosting AF maps. and I think its better to put them in the best of server then in the vanilla server, bc one AF map will kick half of the ppl and with the less action based big maps its hard for the server to recover. so the best of server with his action packed maps was the best choice.

still I think that hosting NO AF maps is the ultimate server set up. AF just kills the best of server...its sad for the people who like AF, but there just aren't that much people out there willing to play it.

So, IF AF is out and POE2 is still in, I'll be fine. I do think WIHAdmin should take a poll first, but I don't make the rules. I just follow them.

Only because people got used to playing maps with constant action. I just hate having to drive across a huge map to get to flags or whore armor! :)

I think its quite nice that we are able to play all the maps again on one server.... yes the 4 map rotation on best of was fun I mean really fun but its only 4 maps and at times this can become quite repetitive.... Being that said its also nice to see that the 1.4 patch fixed the server stability problems while running all the maps. With all maps running ive seen different players join the WIH server and its nice too see new players with different skill levels. It used to be back 1.3 that you’d have 22 regs on the server with 42 pubers and the 22 regs would squad up and run the maps for some time.... more maps introduce more players too the servers, and hopefully more players will be attracted to the WIH web site............Good Job WIH admins and owners for doing this im sure we all really appreciate it

The infantry only maps were quite fun to play last night. I enjoyed myself even though I was only lone wolfing.

Hopefully I'll be able to catch a good squad in the coming days.

I know the regulars here always run a squad. It's fun as a lone wolf, but it's even better when you're in a WiH squad.
