Very Wierd

Ok, so I install BF2 so I can play POE2 the other night. Every works well and POE2 is pretty fun. This is where it gets wierd, I log into CS and everything was set back to clean install. That is to say that every single customization done to the game since I installed was gone.

Autoexec.cfg, models, scripts, all gone. What makes it even wierder was that autobuy was set back to default and when I connected to WiH i had to re-download all the sounds. Not only was everything deleted but my computer had no record that any changes were ever made. My recycle bin was empty and all files said they haven't been modified in 6 months (last time I re-installed windows)

Does anyone have any clue what could have caused that? Its really odd, I fixed everything but for the life of me I can't figure out what happened. it's like my entire CS profile was wiped and re-installed but without any record of it.

Seriously, that's really weird bc BF2 installs into its own directory. It creates its own folder under My Documents as well.

Are you sure it's not bc of the latest update from Valve for CSS?

have you checked any other files on your computer? maybe you had a system restore?? dont really know but was just a thought.

Man that is wierd.I cant even come up with any ideas at all.Its the date last modified thing thats wierdest. If we were on voyager just now i'd start scanning for temporal anomalies.

Lol, yea the date modified thing is the wierdest. I also thought about the system restore thing but thats not it either. I'm banging my head up against a wall on it but I'm no closer to figuring out what it was. As far my computer is concerned I haven't played CS for 6 months.

Update a few times back, did something similar to mine.

I don't know how I did it, but my shortcut was pointing to a different installations EXE. :dunno: After the update, that EXE wouldn't work. But the other one would. :dunno: As far as I can tell the old EXE was using the new ones maps, updates, etc. :dunno:

Long story short, I changed my shortcut to point to the correct file. Viola, I could play again. I didn't have any custom anything, so I don't know if it is some how related.

Just thought I'd share.

well this seems to happen to me alot, especially after changing out my weapons mods and shit, but you just either close steam and restart it or restart the pc.
