Anyone ever play this? Its a free MMORPG. I just DL when I was DLing all those demos Filthy posted and was giving it a shot. I was pissed as hell for the first two hours of play because the interface is kind of bad and counter intuitive. It kinda seems like there is a lot of game here though. The type of item crafting and stuff I wish they had in other MMOs. Definitely not for the plug and play type of gamer but for some in depth stuff check it out.

Here's their forum site... You'll need it if you want to know what the hell is going on:

It looks kind of like an EverQuest 1 mixed with Guild Wars... But it sounds kind of interesting, though. I think I may try this tonight!

Odd name... Minions of Mirth? I thought mirth was supposed to be "hapiness" or something like that. Not usually associated with "minions".

Mirth is actually what they named the realm that this game resides in. Yeah I thought it was wierd too. This thing totally is old school RPG type approach to MMOs... I'm still trying to decide if I like it. Although I speant about 6 hourss playing it today so that is something. Maybe its cause I retarded.

No offence, but I would rathher not wait in line to download stuff. If you are like me here (http://www.prairiegames.com/MoMFreeEdition.exe) is a direct link to a download you don't have to wait in line for.

okay so after playing this obsessively for like three days I love this game - or at least can say for sure that it is addictive.

Cons - Not very pretty. Games like GW and WoW are king in this department. The interface is VERY difficult to handle at first. This is not a very user friendly game at all. No PvP (for thosethat like that). Small community.

Pros - no PvP (for those that hate games built around PvP). The multiplayer cooperative is the focus of this game. Other benefits are probably the most flexible and diverse character class system I've ever seen (although i have not played WoW). There are about 8-10 races to choose from with different benefits. There are about 18 character classes to choose from and you can multi-class up to three classes for one character. So, the possibilities are diverse. You can level each class up to lvl 100 and there are new skills all the way up to level 75. HUGE content here. Also, there are different realms to be a part of Fellowship of Light, Minions of Darkness and Monsters (unlockable templates). You can personally have 6 characters in a party in the game at one time (consolidated into one avatar) and then ally with other players - up to 6 people in an alliance at a time. Also, $30 - no monthly fees.

The monster thing is pretty cool. Complete certain quests with your other characters to unlock templates and you can create monsters (no PvP yet to fight other characters.) BUT these are really friggin cool. I say this 60 foot tall demon walk by me today. I also know you can unlock crocodiles, bats, bears, wolves, skeletons, and even dragons as creatable characters.

Kind of a cool game. Not the first thing on my list to buy but if I had $30 to burn I would buy this game with out a doubt. You will be pulling your hair out at first but if you are a dedicated MMO person and willing to fight through a horrible interface to find a good game, give it a few hours of your time.
